Riise been told he can leave for free this window...thought he was a regular for them?....if Fox buggers off to Forest would be decent till the end of the season..

Punch absolutely murdered him at their place. And incredibly on the outside for a change. For that reason, I'm out...

I never get this cup tied thing for a player like butland

He is hardly going to walk into a team that is still in the FA Cup or likely to last too long

If you were making an investment for the next 5-8 years. Worrying whether he is cup tied for a competition you won't likely win is rather odd

Lets say he signs for Fulham.... Would it matter hugely of he was cup tied??

Brum need to sell him this window. They were making sure he didn't pick up a knock.

Potentially, although his stock has fallen in the last couple of years. He is no longer the 'new Makelele'...still only 23 though.

Hence the price I suppose but the sort of defensive midfielder we need I reckon tall and strong.

I saw Zarate play live quite a few times for the Zulus. Very good player, great skills, small, nippy, nice touch, ability to beat a player. He didn't really get a good run in the side. I can't recall why, perhaps the other two strikers were doing well at the time. He came off the bench a lot for them. The bluenoses loved him. I seem to recall they had him on loan and he would have cost a fortune to buy.

I think he improved after going to Lazio. He was well liked there. When banned he watched games with the Ultras. Not seen him for a while, but if he is better than he was at Brum then it's a yes from me. Wages would be a massive concern though. Not sure we can afford him.

Rennes president has said another PL club has offered them more money for M'Vila so QPR have to raise their bid.

suckers

Everton and Spurs apparently, Everton because they want to sell Fellaini to Chelsea and Tottenham because Parker looked utter rubbish when he replaced the injured Sandro last week.

....."Zárate caused controversy when he was photographed apparently giving a fascist salute while watching Lazio lose to Bari in March 2010 among a group of fans, though his spokesman claimed afterwards that the player "did not realise the significance of his gesture" and did not know who Hitler or Mussolini were.[19][20]"

Hassan Kachloul used to imitate the Fred Scuttle salute and he probably didn't know who he was either. Two fine examples of it in our last match at the Dell/

I'd like to make to see us make a move for somebody like Bojan Jokic of Chievo.

1. We like to raid Italy

2. Full Slovenian International

3. 26 years old with good game time behind him

4. A strong full back but with an eye for a pass and able to attack the left side well. Good competition for Luke Shaw who could also learn a lot from him.

5. Would be relatively inexpensive to purchase from an average Italian side.

sure he doesn't mean Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang ?? Point striker from St Etienne. Good player.

Maybe, I will ask him.

EDIT: He still says it was Agyemang. Maybe true if it was 2008. He has pace but little else so would be very suprised.

I have heard the Agymang link as well. Adkins is a long time admirer and believes that he can get a season out of him to provide some pace and depth to the squad.

I think he'll have a tough time convincing the committee myself, especially after the Jonno Quick fiasco.

He's 32, plays for Stevenage and hasn't scored a goal this season - unlikely to say the least

Still pacey though and surely we'd rather see him play instead of Guly?!

I was even more surprised. I thought he was a consultant solicitor.

I'll check my source to make sure wires haven't been crossed but pretty sure it's the Stevenage striker and not a solicitor we're after. Unless Nic has forgotten to pay another bill of course.

Did Royston Drenthe find another club he looked decent at Everton.

still unattached. Looked good in a couple of games, but if he was good enough, would he be left without a club for so long? Also declaring that you've always been a fan of Liverpool whilst on loan at Everton doesn't really go down too well

As its reported on this board that the new manager has said there are no new signings coming in should this now be closed ?

He didn't say that though did he? It was usual candid manager speak after listening back to it. I heard from a third-party that he said that, but actually if you listen back...he didn't.

Just keeping his cards close to his chest.

One of the reasons why NA's future was often speculated about was his failure to ''lure'' top European names here (which is a load of **** IMO). Well, let's see what this guy can do in the remaining few weeks.

Very much this.

I'm very interested to see how this plays out now.

An interesting sub-plot for Southampton fans is the potential summer arrival of talented Espanyol midfielder Joan Verdu, a creative playmaker widely regarded as the Catalan club's best player.

Verdu, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and has not agreed a new deal, with the club struggling to find funds to pay him as they seek to reduce their debts.

A host of clubs across Europe are known to be keen on securing his services for nothing in June. Considering his history with Pochettino, it's fairly safe to add Southampton to that list of suitors.
