Taarabt is their Ramirez really isn't he. He plays in the hole. They have good players and it wouldn't surprise me if they survive, but they're going to be in the **** big time if they get relegated. If they get a really good CB, CM (M'Vila), and Remy then I can see them getting some good results between now and the end of the season. Whether it'll be enough remains to be seen.

Can't see M'Vila adding much to their game really, overated

Remy has only made 2 starts for Marseille this season and has had quie a few injury problems in 2012, so he might not add much to them either.

Centre back and full backs are where they really need strengthening

Overated or stagnated at his club? I'm not sure, from what I have seen of him (admittably not that much) he's looked like a good talent. I think he is better than what they currently have, and you don't get linked with all the big boys by accident. Wouldn't be surprise to see him back on track once he moves clubs.

Remy has started a few UEFA games though. Baup likes Gignac, he was manager at Toulouse when Gignac was on fire before he went to the OM for a ridiculous sum of money. As they play 1 up front it's either Gignac or Remy and the manager has his binky.

OM paid something like 20 million€ for Remy so it's obvious that Baup doesn't want him any more.

He's also meant to have behavioural issues. Banned from the national team for two years after sneaking off for a night on the town without permission while on u21 duty. There was also a suggestion that his move to Arsenal in the summer fell through because Wenger thought he had a poor attitude.

Swansea have just signed a new attacking wide player, which got me thinking about Nate Dyer. I was surprised to see he's only played 9 times this season after a good season last season. Hypothetically speaking, if the money was right, would YOU have him back at Saints?

Quotes from Redknapp just before Christmas...

They have too many players on massive wages without relegation release clauses or relegation reduction clauses, it really is sh!t or bust down there.

Harry really has made a poor decision here, they were in bad shakes anyway, the majority are there for a final, large pay check and dont have the desire to get out of a relegation scrap and the others probably lack the ability, add to this the in fighting its a worse situation then he gambled.

If they go down its on his CV, and if they dont spend they will go down. Its really not HRs remit to protect the club financially, he has been told to keep them up, as if the go down they are in sh!t streak.

With a decent CB, CM and goalscorer they may just do it, but personally I think they are gone. I suppose itll depend on Villa not improving and newcastle going into freefall, if that happens its possible.

MBia is as good as any CM that they're likely to sign really, he looked OK against Spurs, what they need is a goalscorer. Don't want to eulogise too much about them but they really didn't look too bad at all last week. Just a striker short. Fabio had a great game at LB.

Which is why I said only a CB really, Fabio does look a decent player, MBia looks decent, Diakite had a decent start to the season but seemed to get dragged down as it went on. Their CBs are poor TBH and yes a decent goalscorer would do them the world of good.

Tbh though, I wasnt overly impressed, they looked ok, another day with a bit more luck Spurs would have hammered them.

Spurs is another short of a top goal scorer BTW, Adebayor just looks a shell of what he did all those years ago at the arse

Thing is with QPR this season, they only need a couple of wins and they're right back in touch. This league is very competitive this season, and the likelihood is that QPR will have as good a side as anyone in the bottom 12 positions in the league. It really wouldn't surprise me if they do it.

And going back to 'Arry. it'll just go down as a 'look where they were when he took over, it's not his fault.'

I was doing amusing joke! Smirky was saying TBH meaning "to be honest", and for comedy effect i was pretending confusion with Tal Ben Haim who has same initials and coincidentally recently signed QPR.

Maybe loses something in the explanation tho. Trust me tho, some of my readers was absolutely p!ssing themselves laughing at this!

Cant believe Remy has chosen QPR over Newcastle, after already saying he didnt want to sign for them, and just because of money. Says a lot about the character and the club - wanting to sign players for 80k a week (along with the probably massive salaries for Park, Cisse, Granero etc) when they only get 18k to their home matches. Dont expect the ever so reliable team player and all round nice guy Cisse is too happy either. If they sign M'Vila too, surely their wage bill will be enormous?! Just comparitively, how much is Ramirez on?

Aha! There could be a twist in all this. Apparently Bafetimbi Gomis will be available and he's way way above Remy on Pardew's shopping list. It could well be that Remy didn't reject Toon but Toon pulled the plug to await Gomis.

Reportedly around 38K. Nothing in comparison to the ludricous sums being chucked around by QPR.

One minute Harry is criticising the club for paying players "way way too much money" only to go and sign players which he must endorse. I really hope they go down.

Ramirez is on about 62k a week. It's 38k a week net.

Danny Welbeck would be good!!!! ;)

No. For a start it is highly unlikely!

More importantly do we need a loan striker to improve for someone else?? There is no way he would sign permanently, and for the money it would cost not sure it would be either value for money or our priority. JRod is only getting an occasional game, Lee and Myuka are not figuring at all and Billy is on loan, never mind trying the promising youth! Why on earth would we want to develop a forward for one of our rivals at considerable cost to ourselves, whilst at the same time depriving one of ours to breakthrough? Would be different if we were in a lower division and MU picked up most of the wages.

There is a MUCH sillier rumour out and about.

I'd love to spend a few moments and tell everyone, but unfortunately I gotta spend the weekend in Abu Dhabi.

I'll try and get the Sky Taters to give y'all a hint tomorrow afternoon.

They'll have to stop laughing first

They are quite happy selling him but they want quite a lot of money for him so they're just making sure he's not cup tied.

I never get this cup tied thing for a player like butland

He is hardly going to walk into a team that is still in the FA Cup or likely to last too long

If you were making an investment for the next 5-8 years. Worrying whether he is cup tied for a competition you won't likely win is rather odd

Lets say he signs for Fulham.... Would it matter hugely of he was cup tied??

Riise been told he can leave for free this window...thought he was a regular for them?....if Fox buggers off to Forest would be decent till the end of the season..

I remember his brilliant own goal in our favour from near the halfway line.

MLT said something like "not a bad effort for the distance" :)

Have TalkSport ever got any transfer rumour right in the history of the radio channel !?

I'm sure they just post bullsh!t to get people to listen and ring in.

Tbf its from the Italian newspaper that has got a few of our links already. Don't know anything about him. Only played half a season for Birmingham in the Prem though, was he any good?

Fair enough. Never seen him play so no idea, I don't remember him playing for Brum. Scored 4 in 14 for them. And recently been on loan at Inter from Lazio.

From his wiki....."Zárate caused controversy when he was photographed apparently giving a fascist salute while watching Lazio lose to Bari in March 2010 among a group of fans, though his spokesman claimed afterwards that the player "did not realise the significance of his gesture" and did not know who Hitler or Mussolini were.[19][20]"

I remember my Brum supporting mate raving about him at the time and how they were going to sign for them but they went down. I don't remember seeing him much but do remember him being pretty quick. He cost quite a sum of money when Lazio eventually signed him.

Played for Inter last year in the champions league so can't be too bad. From the youtube vids he looks like he's quick, is quite direct, like to cut in from the left and take shots. Maybe a different option after the Coutinho deal going nowhere.
