Matthew Le God Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 (edited) probs heardabout his $6m release clause No this was inserted into his contract if we get relegated Thank you Thornhill MLG apology accepted Please provide some evidence of a "$6m release clause". $6m = £3.7m Do you honestly think Cortese would sign a player for £12m and put a £3.7m release clause in his contract? ffs Edited 9 January, 2013 by Matthew Le God
Saint Charlie Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Please provide some evidence of a "$6m release clause". $6m = £3.7m Do you honestly think we'd sign a player for £12m and put a a £3.7m release clause in his contract? ffs There isn't one. The confusion comes from the article about Astori where it said he would have a relegation release clause the same as Ramirez does. Clearly meaning Ramirez also has one, not that the value is the same. Some absolute wallies on this Forum today.
tajjuk Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Maarten Stekelenburg available for 3m euros. Would go for that. International keeper for that price is good, not hit if off for Roma but would be good for us.

Don't know that he's much cop on crosses though, shot stopper, little else. Fulham back up target apparently. You can't be a top keeper in the UK if you're not good on crosses. Seems its very much an active transfer and wait and see tomorrow. reluctantnicko: @markreeves999 Chasing a new centre half. Quite possible we wanted two CBs. Plus Nixon did say an offer hasnt been made on this yet. We know we have made an offer for Astori and that they player seems keen from reports. We wont have just ended our interest because its taking a while - we would have expected that.

Stop just being a cock for the sake of it. Someone said the club made a cock up of signing Dawson. That implies it was in the process of happening. Has there been any evidence of that? No. The picking on of MLG is absolutely pathetic. Some more forum members need to get a life. Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 We like buying from Italy it seems, so lets just buy Stekelenburg from Roma, whose an international keeper at a perfect age, and be done with it. Only €3M. Or we could buy a 19 year old from Birmingham who has been leaking goals and has no experience for 3 times the price roughly. Alternatively, we could stick with our 3 and keep changing them every 3 games which won't solve anything. Not a hard choice for me.

It's Nixon's opinion that some of our targets are out of our reach, just his opinion nothing else, which is derogatory to the club IMO, MLG has as much right to question and contradict that statement with his opinion. As a journalist putting out such statements he should expect some comment and countering.

You know, the man with 14 clean sheets in Serie A last season, nearly 50 caps for Poland and plenty of Champion's League experience. It's not a hard decision to make - he's here until June and we can re-evaluate our goalkeeping options then. Kelvin will probably retire from playing or leave, Gazza will probably go on loan or be rotated with an experienced keeper, whether that's Boruc or somebody else.
