Any one of Spurs four keepers-

Gomes, Cudicini, Lloris or Friedel

A solid experienced centre back: Dawson

A decent left back, say Buttner

A 'solid' midfield player like Huddlestone or Dembele

No Davenport, Redknapp Junior, Olivier Bernard panic buys who are worse than what we have already, please.

Job done !

Which was the problem last time we were in the Prem. Only those not getting games elsewhere like Quashie' date=' Davenport or Redkanpp or mercenaries like Camara were interested. Brings neither quality nor team spirit. That said, Michael Dawson could buck that trend & Frimpong could be a rough diamond.[/quote']

I thought Camara brought quality to us.

Huddlestone or Dembele? Definitely not what we 'need'. We need a defensive midfielder. Did Lucas Biglia move in the end? He'd be perfect.

Buttner is proper **** defensively. United fans do not rate him at all.

Paul Scholes.

Okay, unrealistic, but I don't think there are going to be many players available for us - Dawson a possible, but unlikely. We'll get a couple of European league players no doubt - but it doesn't matter so long as they are;

1. Better than Fonte, Jos and Maya

2. Hard as f*ck and willing to get stuck in

3. Got a bit of experience

I am hoping the was one or two deals that were close to conclusion in the last window but just could.not be done for whatever reason otherwise no one is going to sign a three year deal with a relegation clause in it now. Need to shift some out. our wage bill must be big.

2 CBs, a LB and possibly a RW.

OUT

Seaborne

De Ridder (sorry Steve!)

Dickson

Butterfield

Reeves (loan)

Lee (loan)

Puncheon (if we get a decent offer for him - his contract's up in the summer)

IN (any of)

CBs

Gary Caldwell - Great organiser, good leader. Experienced too.

Charlie Mulgrew - Very technically capable, can play LB too.

Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik - Great athlete, strong and quick.

Vegard Forren - Integral part of Solskjaer's Molde team, great all-rounder and still young (24).

Dejan Lovren - Unrealistic but if we're going to break the bank then I can't think of anyone better.

LBs

Martin Olsson - Rampaging, question marks over defensive work though.

Cheikh M'Bengue - Uncompromising, great defender but can be a bit Barton-esque with his tackling sometimes.

Jonathan Parr - Versatile, lots of potential. Played with Clyne last season and looks a class above the Palace team.

We all know we need a couple of class centre backs,a left back, and probably another midfielder[ plus to ship at least 6 out ],but realistically who is going to want to come to a club, that in all probability will be so far adrift of 17th place and odds on favourites to go straight back down.

It really pains me to say this, after the nightmare scenario between 2005 and 2009. I know we will be in a better position financially, but going down really would be a disaster.

If we're low on money then top priority is a prem experienced centre back. If we only get one player make sure that's the one. Second on the list should be a left back with experience and pace. Rare I know but that will do if low on funds and the two most important positions that need sorting.

Serious question, has Parr improved massively? Saw him twice last year and on the telly and he looked hopeless every time. Big lump with poor decision making and very limited technically. Not better than what we have and certainly not one for the next level.

Was watching Behrang Safari from Anderlecht the other night against Zenit in Champions League. Both games (home and away) he was excellent while playing LB. great positioning, tackling, force, pace. In addition to that Anderlechts OS states he can play LM and LB. our Benelux scouts should monitor this Swedish International.

Yevhen Khacheridi. 6ft 6in brick sh*thouse CB from Dynamo Kiev. Has some limitations but I saw him boss it in the air away to Stoke City last year, something our lot can only dream of.

I'd also love Yarmolenko or Konoplyanka from Ukraine but they are both attacking players with a sizeable price tag on their heads.

Played against us in the ML Cup I think. He's looked quality whenever i've seen him.

I fear their salary demands might be too high for us. In addition to that it is difficult to make business with Dynamo, because they want to sell their star players for a huge sums and even if the player is down the pecking order, they still putting some financial hurdles not to lose players. I know u love Dynamo, but as per their business making they r tough to comunicate with, based on the prevoius transfer out sagas of last 3-4 years.

Nevertheless, all 3 players r really good quality. The only problem is their desire to play elsewhere, to make their name internationally recognisable week in week out. Dunno bout their desire to change countries and learn new languages (that is the big big problem with majority of former USSR players, for example, Pavlyuchenko is the best example for that)

Playing Shaw at LB ahead of Fox showed how desparate Adkins is to try to improve the defence but he can only use what he has. It does show that he thinks the LB spot needs a new face. He also said as long ago as May that he wanted two CBs, which was why he let Martin go on loan and set up a loan for Seaborne. Instead of new CBs he was belatedly given Yoshida after the season started, but its hardly surprising that at £2m Japanese player with no Prem League experience has not made much impact. WE have a championbship level back four, with only Clyne havaing the quality for the Prem alsthough even he still lacks the experience.

Can't blame Adkins when he can only pick players Cortese has given him and he desparately needs a LB and CBs x 2.

The transfer activity in the last window looks to have been very badly judged with unnecessary signing of strikers who end up on the bench or out of position and the loaning out of the excellent Billy Sharp. What we did need to improve up front was not a nother striker but someone to build the attack - espacially a RW, so thats what we should be after in Jan. Almost certainly too late now to prise Zaha away from QPR as too many other top clubs will be after him but Cortese should have made more effoirt in the summer. Apeedy RW is goinbg to cost a lot now but that is still our other main requirement. So 4 signings outfield, plus a GK.

I think Fonte has shown he is more than capable of doing a job, and Yoshi is not as bad as people are making out. I think we need one demanding CB, and a LB. Maybe a CM and RW, but I feel we've got enough options at RW. Punch, Guly, J-Rod can all play there so think thats less of a problem. The Clyne/Punch partnership will only improve. Think we've got enough options in goal, we're not going to go get another keeper having just brought in 2 IMO.

Cheers

Was simply thinking of free agents, free and low wages, all experienced.

Why do our January signings have to be "free and low wages", experience is one thing but the players you listed simply aren't any better than we already have. A number of them aren't even "free" anymore having already been signed up by other clubs and many of them have poor injury records.

Yeah but he looked useful.

Suppose it comes down to if he is over tge injury mentally aswell as physically

Frimpong runs around like a loon, kicking people. I'm happy to have someone who will out their foot in and work hard, but his an uncontrolled idiocy on the pitch. Maybe once he's matured and learnt the game a little more hell calm down, but right now I think he'd be a liability.

Not that it helps but I expect more outs than ins,bit of pruning needed on the old salary mass I think. I'd expect Lee,Chaplow,De Ridder, Dickson and maybe even Guly to go out of the door and only a couple of replacements inwards, a CB and a LB hopefully but

if we signed just 2 strikers I wouldn't be entirely surprised really. Might even be one major depart but I've nothing concrete on that.
