a £23m player must be on £100k a week. I'd of thought most prem sides would be interested in him if they could negotiate on his wages

Everton, won't even have to move house. Will replace Distin who'll be pensionned off somewhere, that's the way it works at the top of the PL, you go somewhere where you fit in and the team is competitive, players want to win believe it or not.

Wages to high i suggest

IIRC Man City are not averse to paying a certain amount of loan players wages (can't remember exactly who), so it depends if the Dons Cortese and Mancini can strike a deal in some backstreet trattoria/ristorante (handgun hidden in the toilet cistern to seal the deal Italiano style).

That's true, Brighton are paying 10k of Bridge's 90k pw and they were still paying 100k of Adebayor's wages when they loaned him to Tottenham last season, in fact after he signed permanently City are still subsidising his wages

But with the player refusing to accept a big pay-cut, City were forced to accept having to continue to pay the player the difference between his earnings with them and his new wage of around £80,000 in order to complete the deal.

On the other hand Lescott is one of the best CBs in the league so would have the pick of the best sides in the PL if he wanted to leave even on loan.

Lescott will go back to Everton, don't know why we're discussing him really

"Pass the Buckley! Saints boss Adkins swooping for Seagulls winger Will"......£2m bid when window opens according to Mirror.

can't even begin to think that the money would be an issue....

they already have Hammond there on loan, and we have several players who are " surplus to requirements "......who CDAJF Them.......Barnard, Forte.. et al ....

We already brought two in this season, Boruc as short term, Gazza long term.

First game next season Gazza will be no 1 whatever league we are in.

I'm well aware of who we've brought in but unfortunately neither have completely solved the problem.I wonder how vshort term Boruc is likely to be, three games was it ?

This leaves us with good old Kelv, who many believe is simply not the answer in the Premiership. He looked shaky in the early stages of the season, can we really pin our hopes on him for the rest of the season ?

You may be right about Gazzaniga next season, but I suspect NA and NC will be more concrned about the next five months at the moment.

Just saying what I think will happen. NA loves Gazza.

He is young and has potential, certainly would prefer him to Bart, even if just for his kicking which is superb.

I'm not sure he loves him. He might have a decent kick, but his handling is as bad as I've seen in the Premier League.

I just don't think he will be good enough for us, and I thought the same about Bart.

The lads only 20, imo he will be a top class goalkeeper in a few years. 20s young for any player but goalkeepers don't usually reach their best until their 30s, the fact he managed to be at least half competent in this league, behind that defence is an achievement in itself

That Defence? His most notable howlers came after our defence improved massively. Had it not been for his errors you could argue we'd have four more points.

He deserves a chance

Like Hammond, Chaplow, Butterfield?

He isnt up to he Premier League. We got him to help with goals to get us there after first choice Hooper wouldn't work.

Lee was keeping him out the side til he got injured and as a lone frontman wouldnt work at all.

Tough but correct decision from NA.

yeah..as rodriguez and mayuka have the grand total of 1 goal for £10m

definitetly., 100%, nailed on, no doubt about it..a correct decision to let sharp go from the squad...

Billy Sharp is another player whose reputation is enhanced by not playing (for us). I guess unless we try him in the PL we will never know - but I have my doubts.

Sharp was a great goal poacher for us last season, but didn't contribute that much in open play. I really think he would have struggled badly in this league, he just doesn't have the all-round game or physical attributes required. I am confident that Mayuka and Rodriguez will improve over time.

The thing with Sharp is that he never got a chance, he looked pretty bright in pre-season and we all assumed he'd be part of the squad - so it was a suprise to most that he didn't even get a crack.

I'd have him back for the next 6 months, no harm to be done having another goal scorer in the team.

Sharp isnt the answer, Lambert is slow and not up for it but atleast he can win a few headers etc

Lambert is as good as Sharp at poaching but has more about his game and fits the system better.

So... If Lambert isnt working, how the hell will Sharp work ?

Just because he is scoring goals doesnt mean he will suddenly do it in the prem, he scored goals last year. We need a decent GK, decent wide man, decent CB and if anything is left look at perhaps a new CF and CM.
