Who would you like to see in goal next game? Gazz obviously at fault for the goal but looks like a brilliant long-term prospect - just hope he doesn't become another Bart :/

How about neither of them none of them are currently premiership level keepers if I had to chose one I'd pick gazza despite Saturdays howler he is younger with more potential

none of the three has had much exercise .....other than picking the ball out of the back of the net ......but I wonder if (stats.wise ) how many saves each of them has been called upon to make?

I agree that Gazza is a good prospect, but we have to go for experience at present and so (a fit) Boruc for me. .and I don't think we've seen the last of Kelvin (at least I hope not).

The 1-6 battering against Arsenal blunted even his confidence, but in that game with two own goals .....at one point it seemed like his own defenders were as much of a danger as the Arsenal strikers.

Even with these three guys on the books...If I were the man with the say, I'd be looking to sign a top class goalie in January.

PLEASE....... Don't talk about the extravagance of having FOUR keepers, it'd only be for a few months, and we could sort of the wheat from the chaff at the end of the season.

Some decent comments. Boruc is probably the best of the three and needs game time to get back to his best. Kelvin has the best shots to save ratio but for me will struggle at this level because he does have the reach of the others. Plus I think he has more of an eye on coaching now. So Gazza - a better prospect IMO than Butland probably needs to keep his place. I hope the other players don't overplay the mistake on saturday.

Same with last months poll, stick it out with Gazza.

Best distribution of the 3, least maddening goals gone in through him, seems to generally have the best set up with the back 4 as well.

Some of those positives really reflect the frustrations of Kelvin and Boruc though, Kelvin is great at getting behind the ball for an initial block (probably best of the 3 but not by a lot) but it always goes to an opposition poacher so at this level he gets torn to shreds. Boruc is shouty and decent at most general keeping, but isn't consistent with his organisation. He can make some good, athletic saves, but had poor decision making and did the same as the other two rushing out for things he either needed to commit too or not go for. I don't like how many very poor goals he's been apart of, only West Ham's 4th and the first Spurs goals were acceptable one to go in, the rest (pen excluded for general fairness) were dominated by averageness from Boruc (doesn't look interested more than anything else for me).

So yeah, bar the Swansea goal, Gazza has easily the best distribution and kicking (better than some of our outfield players), getting the defence organised seems to be happening more now and he's generally getting to things that are coming at him (positioning and reactions are good). Would rather we left him in to develop quickly instead of get relegated with an under performing Boruc or a just not prem material Davis.

Davis he is responsible for back to back promotions in the last few seasons he deserves his chance and should get to be in goal at least until christmas.. Everyone should be given time to turn around a bad patch and we owe him some loyalty. I don't even mind being relegated along as kelvin gets to be in goal.....................................

Boruc...don't think much of Gazzaniga at all. Looks like a league 2 keeper...oh wait up that's what he is. We could persist with Gazzaniga until the seas dry up, he'll still be making crass errors.

This you can say with confidence about a young keeper learning his trade, eh? You've already seen enough to surmise that he isn't going to learn from his mistakes, isn't going to improve with experience or coaching?

Whilst we're about it, perhaps you can give us the low down on the future prospects of Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Chambers, etc.

I beg to differ. From what I've seen from him already, he has some good attributes, such as better than average distribution, and his catching of high balls into the area. I'd say that his reaction time was also pretty sound.

So he made a mistake against Swansea. I don't think that he will do that again in a hurry.

I still prefer him to Davis and Boruc at the moment.

Is this the time for a young keeper to learn from his mistakes?

I know he is flavour of the month on here but he should not be free from a bit of stick

When we need that all important experience. We are championing a completely rookie keeper to help keep us up

Not for me

His mistake against Swansea aside, Gazza has looked pretty solid for us but I'm sure he wasn't signed to become our regular first choice.

I say give Boruc a chance to get some match form and fitness and he'll be our strongest keeper with Gazza ready to grow as a player and become our #1 in the years to come.

I'd take (I'm sure I will get plenty of stick for this) ability over experience any day.

Kelvin - much as I love the guy - doesn't look up to it.

Boruc is an odd one. On paper, a good signing, would have thought he would waltz into the first XI. However something looks amiss. Totally feasible that it is just a lack of match fitness, but I do have my own questions about why no one else picked him up?

It isn't so much a case of experience, but ability, quality, right mental attitude, agility, quickness of thought, team spirit, etc.

Rookie doesn't necessarily have to mean inept.

For me it is quite simple.

Davis is finished at Saints as a starting keeper.

Gazza looks like he is going to be class, brilliant kicking, great build but is too inexperienced hence error on Saturday. Not that he isn't good enough...just not played enough matches.

Boruc - the only one of the three to have played at a consistently high level in his career. Has personality which is also important. I could imagine him coming back in and winning us some matches. Not an ideal start but on paper the best of the three.

1. Boruc

2. Gazza

3. Davis

Gazza was at fault for the goal but Yoshida wasn't completely blameless either. His control was **** poor.

Reckon Boruc will be back in goal vs QPR.

That would be my initial reaction as well, but surely Kelvin walked? I'm sure he was quoted as saying that if he couldn't cut it in the prem he would stand down?

I think we need to bring Kelvin back in it was a little unfair him being dropped not that I think that he is the answer & in the summer I was calling for a new keeper all the prem teams seem to have a top class keeper.

Gazza will be a good keeper but the lack of experience will cost us points Kelvin did a good job his time is obviously coming to a end but we need some stability we can't keep changing most teams play 1 keeper all year we need to get a old head in the side I think Kelvin should come back into the team

I'd plump for Gazza at the moment.

Granted he was at fault for the goal on Sunday. Other than that, I have seen nothing to suggest that he doesn't have to potential to make it as a Premier League goalkeeper.

Well worth remembering that in GK terms he is practically a toddler. For me, he is only going to get better.

Or he could have his confidence shattered by having goals smashed past him week in week out and fade away into some lower divison reserve keeper......

Gazza made one mistake against Swansea, interesting that Joe Hart also made one mistake (against Liverpool) this weekend !

Both caused lost points for their respective teams and both are young keepers but Gazza will get much more flak, perhaps because he plays for a less fashionable club struggling at the bottom of the league !

The main point is that goalkeeping errors are inevitable, it's how you deal with them that matters and Gazza now needs to put it aside and show his mettle, to drop him now could could do much more harm than good IMO !
