And you find this interesting because...

It shows how the press will publicise the internal events at Premier League clubs and speculate about developments, whereas at Championship level and below clubs are rarely the subject of press articles. Over the last few years some fans have commented that SFC got little coverage. As for the content, it seems a reasonable statement of whaat might happen if we lose on Saturday.

Isn't that just another way of saying tedious and unfounded speculation that just so happens to have been written by a journalist? I can't see it's worthy of comment.

Thought it encapsulated how many feel really - we know we need results, we know that the chairman will be putting NA under pressure, but we also know that some players are not yet at their potential or they dont have the quality... those brought in are younger players with hopefully bright futures with us, but that does not solve the current issue. How you feel about it all will depend on whether you feel its better to saty up at all costs, irrespective of fact that 3 or 4 more experienced pros on 2-3 year contracts may prevent the younger players form getting the experience at this level they so desperately need, or whether you are comfortbale that we could manage the income redction that comes with relagation and that we could come back stronger... Dont think there is a right or wrong, jsut opinion.

FWIW, I think NC is desperate to stay up, yet also wants the youth to develop and gain the experience on which we can build - are the two reconcilable? Possibly if the quality of the youth is exceptional, but NC is perhaps a little naive if he feels he can have both after such a quick rise - which has meant our older more experienced squad pros, are not good enough at this level in some cases.

Its a dliemma, rather than a nightmare that some would have us believe.

Because it is about Saints perhaps?

Perhaps other Saints fans might be interested to know what a quality paper is saying about our predicament?

How naive of me to have even for one moment think that a Saints article might be of any interest whatsoever on a Saints dedicated forum.

It does show a balanced view of the problem that we've been writing about for the last two months, and comes form a "neutral " source and he could have been more scathing about our performnaces, too.

" another manager wouldn't do any better given the same raw material " I think Cortese will wait until January before making "serious " decisions.... .if he does feel he wants to replace NA then a new

manager will expect money to be spent the way he wants it.

Any potential candidates are undoubtedly spending their spare time watching lots of matches at the bottom end of the Prem. table........in anticipation.
