Ally Biggs Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Fans - Fantastic support for Nigel who I still believe is the man to take this club forward Luke Shaw - Did good deffo needs more games Danny Fox - Made more of a impact as a Sub put some decent balls into the box Gaz - Silly Mistake but keeps is still learning his trade, Looks are best keeper though Clyne + Punch - Played really well together attacked down the right hand side Jack Cork - We have missed him is good at holding up the ball and passing ability is great Adam Lallana - Is Mr Saints FC, can tell by his passion for this club, unlucky not to get a penalty Ramirez - Did a decent job getting better every game settling in only a matter of time Rickie Lambert - need to keep playing him up top will always be a goal threat with his head Schd - decent goal good performance Unlucky not to take the 3 points, Made a schoolboy error but the majority of the game we were on top of them, Swans were there for the taking. But hey ho I would rather have a point then nothing. Our defence looked alot better. I still reckon we should Loan our J rod and get Sharp back in his a poacher and will always be capable of getting goals. Jack Cork makes the difference for us can actually pass the ball unlike S Davis. Queens Park will be a tough game, Saw them on match of the day they made quite a few good chances. We need to keep the defensive shape keep the faith and more importantly get the 3 points COYR
sadoldgit Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 And the fact that Adkins is still the manager. Not great to be in a relegation fight in November but I would stick with him.
Wade Garrett Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 I thought Cork was excellent yesterday. Shaw looked good as well, and I'm glad that someone has praised Fox for his contribution. The team, for the most part defended well. The team still need to get used to Ramirez, quite a few times he was ignored despite being in space. My optimism from yesterday is tempered by the fact that Swansea were poor. But, from admittedly a very low benchmark it was an improvement. John B Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 There will always be positives Cork Shaw etc but as Mr Garrett says Swansea were poor and had players missing and came for a draw and if we are to survive in the PL we need some wins so I am slightly disappointed. So if we cannot beat a poor Swansea side at home which team are we going to beat the next three games are going to be interesting as we do need a couple of wins one of which needs to be against Norwich I would have thought

I'm not sure Swansea are all that and, whilst we played well, i think it was against a team that played poorly. Should've got the 3 points really. Alanh Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Interesting that you had Schneiderlin down as a positive. For me he was the weak link in central midfield in terms of positioning and effectiveness with and without the ball. The goal was well taken and it's great that he's got two now this season but I think he should be dominating the game more against a team like Swansea - breaking up play, getting us moving and making us tick. Only Cork seemed to be doing that yesterday. It might be a tactical thing from NA but I didn't see his performance (goal apart) as that positive. kpturner Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 We need Shaw to come on when we are defending and Fox to come on when we are attacking. Is this possible?

Tony F Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 And the fact that Adkins is still the manager. Not great to be in a relegation fight in November but I would stick with him. I suggest its better being involved in a relegation fight starting in November than April. By being where we are now, at least we've got months to sort things out, gain some momentum and climb up. If you start your relagation battle in April the only thing you can focus on is a big red panic button!!

Should've got the 3 points really. Laudrup is a very good manager IMO, but playing Michu up front was odd. They'd be much better suited with Graham up front and Michu just behind him. Saint_clark Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Agree, apart from scoring Morgan was poor. It seems like we can't decide what job we want him to actually do. He has good all round attributes but doesn't really shine in any one area (except his ability to spot and execute a pass). Now if he could hit the target OR win the ball regularly we would know whether we want him to sit back and dictate play or get forward and link up, but as it stands he's stuck in no mans land. mitch01 Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Cork played well and he helps vary our play. He was always looking to knock the ball up to Lambert and we created several openings from that tactic in the same way we did last season. He's also decent with his feet and works hard. Some are going OTT though; according to some both Cork and Morgan are/will be some of the best CMs in the league.

Not sure I agree with this - I thought there were times when the team were trying to put everything his way rather than just have a pop at goal. It was starting to get a little predictable. ericofarabia Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 Goals against average per game plummeted to 2.6. We would have to concede 7 at QPR to hit the 3 per game average. QPR have only scored 8 all season - so this is sadly a highly likely out come !!!
Micky Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 So? Even if we are relegated, what does it matter in the grand scheme of life? Just take pride in the fact we're actually playing well. It matters not a jot to me - in fact I expected it from day one. As for us playing well - that's a matter of opinion. We can't continue to 'play well' and lose - relegation is no shame, but doing worse than Derby would be highly embarrassing.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 Positives. ummmmm.... positive we threw two points away, positive we will be in the Championship come this time next season. You may well be right on both counts. However if we must seek out a positive in all the gloom that surrounds St Mary's, then I must say that despite the battering we are receiving Adkins still apparently retains the trust of his players. Judging by the effort the team are putting in I see no evidence at all that he has 'lost the dressing room' as the saying has it. If that day ever did come then he really would have to go. Totally agree - he looks, talks and portrays nothing but positive vibes. I have no problem with relegation, if truth be known, I welcome it. I am already bored of the premiership, rarely even bothering to watch that many games - I take it Man U / City or Chelsea are winning the league - ummm that's a surprise then. Much as I'd like to be in the champions league making a fist of it, I think our true level is championship making a fist of it - and there's no shame in that. I have to admit that, whilst I am still properly into the games I go to, I have paid little to no attention to the league table this season, whereas last year I could probably name the top 6, how many points they had and what their goal difference was (in the NPC).
