Spudders Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Didn't celebrate too much after his goal Said nice things about us in interview after game on MOTD Robbed from the skates. Nice one Nathan
Colbury Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 I could have sworn I saw him run over to their fans and do that salute thing he always does. So pretty much the same as he always does when he scores. Makes me laugh when people say players haven't celebrated when they clearly have. Eg Bale against us clearly ran off did his usual make a love heart hand gesture before high fiving team mates - yet he got praise for not celebrating too. Not celebrating to me is scoring then jogging back to your own half head down and not acknowledging anyone.
supersonic Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Any chance we could get him back? He did more damage when he came on that our front 3 did all game. Good goal, and yes he did celebrate, but so what? He was respectful, didn't go round giving it the Ricardo Fuller
sammysaint Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 I respect him for that, lack of celebration and nice interview as wotte said on twitter he only was sold because we needed the money, hes still only 24 i think he would come back he does on FM

I wouldn't expect an old player to stand like a statue if they scored, yeah he made a gesture to the Swansea fans, but it was all pretty subdued, he could have made more of a meal of it but he didn't. austsaint Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Have always rated ND as a fast, skillful winger with an eye for goal. It's a shame he is still not a Saint, his form over the past two seasons has been first class. I thought his post=goal reaction and friendly handshakes with several old team mates at full time showed a bit of class too.

Fan In The Stand Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Perhaps he just found it in someone's handbag. It was Lallana's. He also held out his hands when he scored as though not wanting to celebrate. Respectful. Bale & Walcott did the same...so easy to spot this now. Who's next? Surman?! Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 The most respectful player was Dave McGoldrick, he walked around with his head down all game, apologising for even being on te pitch.

Bale & Walcott did the same...so easy to spot this now. Who's next? Surman?! I agree all three ex Saints players did nothing remotely 'wrong' and all showed the proper level of respect towards their old club with minimal goal celebrations. Surman is nailed on certainty to score against us I suppose, but following the managers example and always looking for the 'positives', then perhaps we should be grateful Chris Baird hasn't joined in - yet. shurlock Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 (edited) Part of me wants former players to give it the big one - this season, the lack of celebrations has almost felt like an act of mercy, a refusal to kick a man when he's down. Agreed. Kenwyne Jones running the length of the pitch and doing a swallow dive in front of the Northam would give us something to get our teeth into. Spudders Posted 11 November, 2012 Author Share Posted 11 November, 2012 I'm going to Twitter Drew Surman & suggest he works on a celebration that involves him scoring, running up to Adkins and doing a mime of someone uploading their cv to an online job search engine
Saint Without a Halo Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 so far Walcott Bale and Dyer have scored against us Still to score against us Chamberlain, Surman, Delap Baird, Monk, Willimason, Jones, which other ex Saints are still playing in the premiership? With a goalkeeper that is almost a full team of experienced top level players! (bet they would have had a hatful more than 5 points so far if they played as a team providing we added a reasonable keeper). A good line up (even is there is an excess of wingers and not enough midfielders) of Keeper Delap Williamson Monk Bale Wallcot Baird Surman Chamberlain Jones Dyer Also why is it players we sign rarely score against their old teams? ohh silly me we didnt sign any with premier experience other than Davis! bornfree Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 How long before Beattie is scoring against us for Accrington Stanley?!?!?! On the subject of Dyer i was very impressed with the respect he showed the club despite the insistance on a number of fans booing him! Anybody know the reasoning behind this?? He left at a time when we had to sell due to our financial circumstances, I don't remember anything particularly negative about the situation (petty crime aside)
Ally Biggs Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Credit to him took his goal well, Held back the celebrations had his head down, And said some really great things about us after the match, His the type of player saints need bit of pace, good at going forward and more importantly knows where the goal is. Clearly they were both happy to score for the teams paying their wages but the celebs were kept to a minimum. Do you want them to go to every Saints player and apologise for netting? bender Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 I'm surprised Garry Monk didn't score too... I went to Ayia Napa in 2000 and was drinking with Kevin Davis, Hassan Kashloul, JBT & Deano (rip). Monk was there also but I didn't realise he was a Saints player. Just thought he was one of their friends.
