dannysfc Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 It was Good to be back at St Mary's as I missed the Spurs game due to Illness and looking round the ground that it looked quite packed to me so would be interesting to see what the attendance was too...!?! I thought that We did OK and that We gave Swansea a Good game and that in my eyes that We should of had at least 2 pens which I don't know that whether the Referee bottled it or not But We didn't get it and that We now move on to what I see as the first 6 pointer of the season v QPR which I'l be at to Hopefully see us Win as QPR also need there first Win of the season too so We'l see how it goes on Saturday...!!! Also I still don't know what our defence is as it seems to chop and change every game along with the keeper which having Gazzaniga in goal maybe the start for him so We'l see with that too...!!! Also I thought that Luke Shaw did Well and will be interesting to see how long he keeps his place in the team too!!! Bring On QPR!!! COYR!!! scotty Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 We played alright, as did Swansea. Their number 20 ran the midfield for them and Cork ran it for us. Morgan wasn't at the races apart from the goal. We should have had one (or two, unless you're Martin Keown) penalties. And as Adkins said, a young lad in goal makes a mistake and hands them a point and costs us two... I think we'll feel better next week when we win away for the first time. We are ideally set up to beat QPR. Dont, mate. Just dont.
Legod Third Coming Posted 11 November, 2012 Share Posted 11 November, 2012 Dont, mate. Just dont. Nah - you've got to go in believing otherwise you've lost already!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 The error by Gazza was a terrible one. Not because he's young and errors will be made. No, because the keepers and defenders MUST have been told more than once by the coaches NEVER to fanny around with the ball when under pressure at the back - you put it into row ZZ and re-group. If Adkins and his coaches have not been 110% clear about this to their players then someone needs to be horse-whipped to within an inch of their freakin' lives!!! melmacian_saint Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 Also not sure I appreciate all the Gaston Ramirez chants that happen during the game. It's almost like he's been everywhere with us. The last thing we want is a 12M south american youngster feeling like he's the best.

I certainly believe there are more worthy candidates for their songs to be sung at times. When Morgan scored on Saturday the Northam piped up with Gaston's song...he hadn't touched the ball. And the same thing happened in the first half we attacked and think the ball went out for a corner after the ball didnt make it to Gaston, and his song was sung again. I'm all for getting behind the team though, don't get me wrong, noise is better than no noise.
Leicestersaint Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 I thought we played pretty well on Saturday and we were clearly the better side - except we didn't make it count in terms fo goals and then gifted them their goal. It was a much better display and Shaw did well with Cork MoM. Encouraging.

That's pretty much the real term view of the game, should have won, encouraging we didn't loose, Cork played very well, should be able to beat QPR like that. No horrific defending, one mistake cost us a bit too much though we should have made it 2 or 3 really to compensate.
Saint Garrett Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 Some pretty decent comments from Swansea fans on Planetswans as well. Rate us as a side but still finding our feet.

Well clearly the keepers are told to try and pass out from the back. Adkins has obviously never said to just clear it everytime and nor should he otherwise you can't really build attacks from the back like we clearly want to do. The error was a lack of judgement of when to clear and when to pass. He passed, but should have cleared, however his distribution is actually very good, it was just a poor decision. Do i want to see him hack every ball up the pitch at QPR? No Would I expect him to clear the same ball in those same circumstances - Yes.

Sour Mash Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 Everyone around me was singing his name when Morgan scored. That was a bit weird. It's ridiculous. Apart from the fact that he didn't have a particularly great game either. Basically its a catchy song that lots like to sing, a bit like the Tadanari Lee song last year and has little relation to what is actually going on the pitch. shurlock Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 And I thought Van Persie's hat-trick was bad enough. No we've got to go and ape his chant.
The Cat Posted 12 November, 2012 Share Posted 12 November, 2012 And I thought Van Persie's hat-trick was bad enough. No we've got to go and ape his chant. First time I heard it was in the pubs before Arsenal. Then the game kicks off and the chant starts and the rest of our fans who aren't happy with any songs containing more than about 10 words happily joined in and that was that.
