Folk have marked their bodies since humans walked the earth, for a myriad of reasons. What are yours?

scotty Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 None for me either, and Ive got to say that I find most piercings on anyone revolting. Ears pierced, no problem, but anything else is horrible. I especially dislike navel piercings, eyebrow ones and nose studs. And tongues. Grotesque, imho. Tats aren't much better.
Hatch Posted 10 November, 2012 Posted 10 November, 2012 Had my ear pierced back when I was an alcoholic student, Now have a tattoo on my back. Wasn't a instant decision, thought about it for about 5 years deciding to go ahead with it. Don't regret it yet.

Just holes drilled in dead tissue, which I've done myself when I get a black fingernail/toenail, to release the blood from the nail bed. These things turn my stomach;

Tattoos I can sometimes understand if you want to show your allegiance to a specific regiment etc. Some kind of badge of honour our whatever. I know I sound like I'm reading the headmaster's rule book here but when it comes to piercings I think it should be women only, one set of holes in the lower ear lobe. Anything else just looks sh*t. Tongues, eyebrows, belly buttons, noses, lips. Grown men with those big black 'spacers' in their ears in an effort to try and make as big a hole as possible... You're not a Fijian tribesman ffs! I've heard those tongue piercings are supposed to give better head but I've never been receiving oral pleasure from a lady and thought, 'Christ this is boring, when's Match of the Day on.'

Hate tattoos on anyone but on girls look absolutely horrible IMO. Did you see that girl (Dani?) on Strictly tonight with tattoos on the back of her legs? Wonder if she'll regret that one day...
