Strachan in the wings - Daily Mail

Perhaps you should read your posts before you write them then...He would certainly make us harder to beat, but so would Hoddle.

Is that not saying you want Hoddle? Perhaps you are rhe one to wind their own neck in

No, just because I think they would do better than Adkins, does not mean I want them in. There are plenty of other managers about, who I rate higher than those 2.

Do you understand now?

Gordon took a woefully thin on quality squad (with four very very good players who played down the spine of the team) and got them to perform well above their station. He know the prat Lowe would not be spending any money on the squad and Gordon knew that this would only lead one way.

Their has been talk of Strachen being given the job till the end of the season if NA were to get the sack.

Have you heard anything since the Scotland job became available? Interesting that NA had his vote or confidence since that little development - perhaps GS is no longer available.

Why Hoddle? What did he do at Spurs or Wolves to suggest he could do anything here? He was manager at The Dell ..so was dear old Ted so should we dig him up...or better still we could roll his statue in every game at SMS it would be the same effect as Hoddle?

Why has no-one employed him in 5 years? Why did he start up his own academy....that has failed....why has not one club employed him?

Yet his name gets trotted out so regularly on here is laughable.

Its questionable whether he should of got the job above Sturrock but again there were better candidates than Hoddle and his baggage at that time as there are now.

Look at the Sainrs stats, Hoddle was one of our most successful managers. At least you concede that he would have been a better appointment than Sturrock. I wish the vocal minority had thought like that in 2004 !!!!!

I expect as one of the vocal minority, this is one of your major regrets considering the awful consequences for the club.

Even Hoddle's biggest fan, his agent, Lord Dalek, recently conceded that Hoddle has been away from management too long now to be able to add value to any top flight side.

True, I have my doubts. Because Hoddle has been out of top flight management for such a long time it would, be a risky appointment, a gamble.

Honestly, let's see what happens over the next few games.

IMO if NA sees a heavy defeat today he may just come to a mutual agreement with NC and walk. I think NA is a top genuine bloke who has a great deal of pride and integrity.

He was (at that time) by taking a relegation-threatened side and hauling them up to mid-table.

.But you maybe overlooking the fact that we don't have the same players NOW as we had then......

....and quite frankly I doubt if any AVAILABLE manager could do much better than NA....given the squad we have at present.

We have one of the new wave of young managers who have totally encompassed diet, psychology, recovery etc and will use his current experiences to continue on his winning ways.

If we stay up in 17th position he will have once again succeeded.

If we are relegated we have the manager with the most promotions in the last 5 years on board. It's a win / win situation and maintains continuity.

Let's not let the media spoil our party in seeking a story to conform to their Premiership blueprint.

Weren't we told a few months back that man for man this side is better than the team that finished 8th in 2003?

Of course thet could, like I said before by simply making us more difficult to beat it may not be as... Pretty... But it seems we dont have the ability for pretty right now

Or apparantly we could let adkins get on with things himself without interference, which, of course is exactly the current situation

This! Where teh negative types 'fail' is in theor assumption that those who remain 'positive' cant see what is wrong - we know what is wrong, we know we have tactical naiviety, we now some of our players are less than prem quality - but rather than feeling miserable and attacking everyone at the club in a pathetic attempt to mask their bruised fragile egos, thsoe with a more positive mind set see it for what it is. A club that is trying to things their way, without as yet teh quality and experience to it, but determined to stick to their guns - we should be proud that we aint simply gone and spent our cash on a few journeymen Delaps in teh blinkered mind set that survival at any cost is all that is important - sometimes it more important to try and fail, than simlpy copy the same old and end up being teh type of club that most would rightly be critical of when we wre outside the top flight.
