I genuinely don't think WGS would give us anything better than we have already in Nigel.

Completely agree.

His style of fitness and organisation worked for us ten years ago, but now with the squad we have? No. It would be a poor fit.

More to the point, it wouldnt work well suddenly implemented mid-season.

He did a decent job when he was here last time, but he had the sense to get out at the right time. He would certainly make us harder to beat, but so would Hoddle.

I deffo prefer Hoddle if we are going back in time.

He made a good mid season impact with an already premier league standard squad, but I think I see what you're getting at. He wouldn't have the right building blocks to have the same impact now.

I said it before but if NC was paying attention the last game of last season he would have seen the reception WGS got from the saints fans...If you have to sack a popular manager replacing him with a popular ex-manager might not be a bad idea.

Not sure myself WGS is what we need but I suppose his saints team was built around fitness, hard bloody work and commitment not bad attributes to have at the moment.

I think the Wee Man could be just the job. I think he'd keep us up. Not fussed about the Boro thing, he came to us on the back of a relegation first time.

I think we need dull organisation right now. Strachan or Curbs are my choices to do that. Strachan, of the two, would have the fans onside more quickly.

Would be nice if Adkins could turn it round, obviously.

I think he's off to the jocks though. Money for old rope there.

Agree that Gordon would bring little more than Nigel already does. Sad to say it but only Harry with Joe Jordan, and perhaps Hoddle would give us more options. My fear with a choice of Hoddle is he's been out of the Premier League too long.

Why Hoddle? What did he do at Spurs or Wolves to suggest he could do anything here? He was manager at The Dell ..so was dear old Ted so should we dig him up...or better still we could roll his statue in every game at SMS it would be the same effect as Hoddle?

Why has no-one employed him in 5 years? Why did he start up his own academy....that has failed....why has not one club employed him?

Yet his name gets trotted out so regularly on here is laughable.

Its questionable whether he should of got the job above Sturrock but again there were better candidates than Hoddle and his baggage at that time as there are now.

There can't be to many jobs with lower expectations...

A decent job??? Are you kidding?

If what he did last time was only a decent job... I hate to see anything less

WGS and Hoddle?!?! Hahaha - yesterdays men. If NC is serious about taking the club forward then he needs to stick with Adkins or bring in someone of Benitez's level.

Why does Strachan have to get lumped in with Hoddle all the time? Hoddle left us and did nothing but fail.

Strachan left us and took Celtic into the last sixteen of the Champion's League twice, as well as winning the league three times in a row - Scottish League easy etc but no other Celtic manager had done that for decades.

Hoddle and WGS should not be mentioned in the same breath.

You're right of course. He did an excellent job. But, he knew exactly the right time to go on his merry way.

WGS would certainly make us difficult to beat, he certainly doesnt have the total football mentality that Adkins has.

Wouldnt be the worse shout if Adkins was shown the door.

What about guardiola ? He isnt doing much at the moment.........

Perhaps WGS will be brought in to assist our manager- on a short, season long contract with a view to help, not destabilise? WGS or Joe Jordan would both help, I feel sure

That's right. Being in a manager to help out our manager. That will definitely work

Yea my mate was selling his house in Warsash and now gws has taken it back off the market. I assumed he was going to be offered the Scotland job though!

He was buying Martin O'Neil's place in Winchester but it fell through when Michael Owen gazumped him.

Nige don't need ANOTHER manager to help him

He just needs to be left alone to do the job himself

Allegedly

Their has been talk of Strachen being given the job till the end of the season if NA were to get the sack.

Di Matteo is the man Cortese wants. He'd have been here now if He hadn't got the Chelsea job.

Alpine just plane no, at the time yes! But that was years ago, he is passed it and lost the drive.... or he would have managed at a decent level for the past "X" years. I wanted him back before for sure. But not now! Nigel deserves this month to see if he can make it.

Perhaps you should read your posts before you write them then...He would certainly make us harder to beat, but so would Hoddle.

Is that not saying you want Hoddle? Perhaps you are rhe one to wind their own neck in

What they achieved in the past (or not) has nothing to do with their suitability NOW to manage Saints...i.e. neither are up to the job.

Fair enough, your opinion. But Hoddle is still infinitely more ill equipped than the wee man.

Personally, I'd love it if Gordon stepped in, although Nige sorting it is still my preferred route.

Strachan was mentioned to me before NA arrived by a reliable source. I mentioned on here here that we should expect the return of a familiar face but didn't commit to a name. The situation changed and NA arrived.

The same source mentioned GS earlier this week and later that day Levein got the boot. That's a coincidence too far.

He apparently wants the sweaty job and the temptation may be too much but GS may be our boy.

Watch this space.

Surely ORGANISATION is exactly what we need right now?

Nope - wouldn't work - we've already spent the money that Harry would want to spend.
