Saint Garrett Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 One of my close uni mates (bird) has just moved to Southampton, having lived in Sheffield for the last 5 years - originally from near Cannock. I'm going to meet up with her tomorrow evening after the game and was gunna go for some food and a few drinks somewhere. Where do people advise me to take her seeing as though she knows nothing about Southampton really. Ideally somewhere where you can sit and chill but also has some kind of atmosphere to it. Cheers
Turkish Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Trago Lounge and Cenos in Portswood are good for that. Other wise Oxford Street or Bedford Place are your best bet. Otherwise dispence with the foreplay go back to hers get down to why you really are here to see her.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 You need to go to Centros back in the 90's, that was perfect for that kind of thing. Sorry no idea now, these days it is all shots for a quid and getting felt up behind Weatherspoons - broken Britain.

John Boy Saint Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 http://www.theoxfordbrasserie.co.uk/ If you fancy grown up eating and chatting, recommend booking for a Saturday evening, plenty of places to move onto afterwards

Cheers White Star Tavern on Oxford Street or Yuzu Lounge on Carlton Place.
The Kraken Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Chambers on London Road is fairly chilled these days. Good pizza too.
shirleysfc Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Half price cocktails in Orange Rooms between 5pm and 9pm, it's normally quietish until 9pm
SuperMikey Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Trago Lounge is good, but f*cking expensive. I would say Chambers as well. Nice place, not very expensive and usually pretty quiet so good for a chat.

Turkish Posted 11 November, 2012 Posted 11 November, 2012 So how did it go Garrett? Few cocktails in a lounge bar and then back to hers, wherein the words of Richard Keys, 'Did you smash it?'
Saint Garrett Posted 11 November, 2012 Author Posted 11 November, 2012 Didn't happen in the end. Meeting her on Thursday in Winchester. Certainly not 'smashable' and well into the friend zone (unfortunately!!)

Certainly not 'smashable' and well into the friend zone (unfortunately!!)[/QUOTE] contradiction? Well shes not 'smashable' for the sole reason she has a long term boyfriend and we've been good mates for 5 years. Still would though...
Saint Mikey Posted 12 November, 2012 Posted 12 November, 2012 Well shes not 'smashable' for the sole reason she has a long term boyfriend and we've been good mates for 5 years. Still would though... Seems like a waste of your time to me. Why not spend the time and money on someone who's back-door you might be able to smash in?
Saint Garrett Posted 15 November, 2012 Author Posted 15 November, 2012 Ended up going to the Platform Tavern this evening. Was pretty good night and had some live music on as well! Recommend it to anyone who has never been there!
Saint Garrett Posted 16 November, 2012 Author Posted 16 November, 2012 Dropped her off, and drove home. Maybe I should be trying to make the most of it while her boyfriend is in the Himalayas!!
Lets B Avenue Posted 16 November, 2012 Posted 16 November, 2012 Pot noodle and a w@nk? It would need extra sauce.
