So are people saying Shaw should start because they've seen him play and looks class or because Chealsea were rumoured to want him so he must be good?

Posted

Didnt really play long enough for me to make a proper opinion but he looks like, and by all reports he has the ability.

I hope he gets a bit of protection before his confidence is completely destroyed.

That said, he will probably be an improvement on Fox TBH

As for Maya, was he that much worse than the rest of the team on Monday ? Or is he being judged on the times he was played out of position ?

Looking forward to seeing him start the weekend.

Lets hope he can help sort the shambles out!

Hopefully Jos will start ahead of Yoshida to.

Keepers anyone's guess.

I'm glad there's a way for our blind supporters to post on internet forums. I'm all about inclusivity.

He will start . Adkins would have had that in mind when bringing him on last game

Not that he was bringing on the academy player that has to appear in every game?

Posted

I doubt he'll start. NA said as much in his last pre-match conf. - he hasn't been able to put out a settled back 4 all season, and he's now got the opportunity to do that. I doubt he's going to change it around again.

Hope he gets a chance, but if we play as open he will be utterly destroyed by the Swansea winger. Clyne should have the pace/nous to deal with Dyer, Scott Sinclair will not be afraid to run at a 17 year old debutant.

A whole lot of urm NO.

A) Shaw isn't ready, at all. Putting him in how is asking for trouble

B) Bring back Jos?! Do we like playing 10 men vs 12??? Not to mention Yoshida has been pretty good overall, he's learning how to push forwards into places where it is safe to tackle instead of doing a Jos and letting them into the box and putting them down.

C) Can only hope Adkins either picks Boruc and leaves him in or keeps Gazza in for consistency sake.

Sinclair is at city, Hernandez will play wide right

If all our players have the attitude a 17 year old debutant will have we will be going home with 3 points.

I can't yet work out if you're a bit special, or a genius. There's no middle ground, and the jury is out.

Dear me, yes, you are right..... it's been a long day.

Either way, I do fear him being thrown in too soon.

Even though Shaw is likely to be a little raw and even a touch overawed for a while, the inability/unwillingness of a wide midfielder to track back magnifies the importance of a defender on that side who can get back quickly. This is where Shaw has a clear edge over Fox, who IMO has been playing better since he was dropped.

Swansea will definitely throw some pace at us down that flank, with Dyer, so I can certainly see NA making the change.

Lets face it he hasn't got very big boots to fill has he. But we won't go there again .

Maybe we should throw Jack Stephens in there too? Fonte, Yoshida and Hooiveld haven't covered themselves in glory; by your rationale he couldn't do any worse, eh?

Bevis Mugabi might be worth a run out too.

You 2 muppets are quality.

If I had said I hope he doesn't start you would have been arguing he should.

Your like pathetic kids just wanting to Argue for no reason.

Shall we keep him on the bench until his 18 th birthday?

He's good enough to start and I have it on good authority all going well he is starting

So Fox lovers you best say goodbye as he won't be getting back in the side anytime soon.

Stop getting upset Matthew Le Missier.

Answer the question i asked in my first post. Are you saying he should play because you think he's quality and have seen him play enough to form that opinion or because you are just assuming hes good because of the hype?

It's just an impossibly great name, that. In the next game he should definitely be the designated academy player that makes an appearance, just on his name alone.

And I'm really starting to think this MLT character is a bit unhinged, by the way. Just doesn't seem quite all there. Very angry too; I don't know what about though.

Great headline opportunities for the Swansea game

Mugabi dominates White.

Im argueing as You talk a load of guff tbh

And no, no I wouldnt of argued, Adkins needs to play a settled back 5 but protect it better.

When have you seen him play to tell me he is the saviour ? Out of interest ? And you ignored my original question about Yoshi ?

Your doing well though, Im enjoying it

I thought Id explain the joke so the OP could understand

That means I love fox btw

I heart Fox too. I like his tats and his sunbed tan and the way he claps the fans sometimes when he takes a corner.

He reminds me of Essex

Actually, that makes him the exact oppodite of harding who was pale and shouted at ball boys

I liked Hardings wrist bands and his blonde hair. He is definitely a premier league ball boy bully, just not a premier league defender.

Blimey Lowe and his retirement home malarkey really has really brainwashed some of the plums on here, if you are an old fecker seems to be the Willy Wonker golden ticket for top billing on the team sheet, if you are a nipper you are no good er because you don't know as much as Mr Crusty.............. Thank god I am an old bugger, cos in some folks world I have a job to breeze into for years.

Re Gazza: some of you winkles really need to do your research the bloke has already been playing first team football with Gilligham so he ain't fresh out of the player factory.

I'm intrigued where you got your info from. You don't strike me as the sort of person Nige would share team secrets with...

Oh, and I love Fox.

not sure why people don't think he is ready, Swansea have drafted in a youth left back and he has done really well by all accounts.

If they are good enough they are old enough.

I think the point people are making is that based on his cup performances he isn't good enough yet, nothing to do with his age.

Other youngsters looked okay in the weakened teams where as people have pointed out Shaw struggled. Do you think he should start?
