melmacian_saint Posted 5 December, 2012 Share Posted 5 December, 2012 The fact that in this forum some people still dread for Football League cult heroes shows how long it's been since we've been here. And yes, the difference is WAY bigger than it was in 2005.

Saint Without a Halo Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 No we should not off load Ramierez! I believe he will prove his worth this season and will link well with Osvaldo! CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 I don't know how many times I've read on here, but apparently last season was a kind of prolonged 'settling-in' period for this player and this season he will come into bloom and prove all his doubters wrong. From what I've seen so far this season I must say we still appear to be patently waiting for the 'real' Gaston to turn up. My advice to him would be that 'sooner would be better than later' young man.

Barry Sanchez Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 I believe I have been saying it for a while, you cant flog a dead horse, well you can but it wont do any good, he is finished as a Saints players, the WORST signing ever, at least Dia was on a trail, would we keep Ramirez if he was on a trial? The only thing keeping him here is Cortese's ego.
Sour Mash Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 I'd actually like us to give Ramirez one long run of starting games and playing 90mins. If he's going to be here he needs that, otherwise he may as well be shipped out this coming January.

The only way we'll know for sure is if he gets a run of games. I'd like to see a front 4 of the following given a run of 5 games or so: Rodriguez Ramirez Lallana Osvaldo If Ramirez doesn't make an impact in a settled line-up, the writing will be on the wall. Sour Mash Posted 2 September, 2013 Share Posted 2 September, 2013 He is too unfit, he cant hack it, lazy and uninterested. Possibly, but we'll only find out 100% if he's given a run of starts. If not, there is no point have £12m and £60k a week tied up on the bench with 15mins sub cameo appearances.

Lallana seems to have made a good start to the season and stepped his game up from last season. Osvaldo is providing a bit more competition too. and as much as I thing Rodriguez is below par, he's about the only option we now have that offers some genuine pace and some form of ability to get on the ball and put defenders on the back foot. I'll be honest, I don't really know what our best starting line-up is since Osvaldo arrived; only to say that it seems to have pushed Ramirez backwards if anything. Hard to call, but most likely Lambert I'm afraid. He can have Osvaldo's movement ahead of him. Just don't see a point in him hanging around otherwise. But then as i said I really have no idea what our first choice XI is going to be; our forward options look rather disjointed to me.

Agree Ramirez needs a run in the side as its jot doing him or us any good him just playing 20 minute cameos.

Why are you trying to rope those two in? They might be annoying shiits at times, not too dissimilar to me to some no doubt but the crucial difference to YOU is that they appear consistent! You're just a plain fool with no consistency and have a HISTORY of posting absolute controversial "look at me" rubbish. Let anyone if they can be bothered browse through your previous, and they will know what kind of idiot you truly are. I don't forget mate. shurlock Posted 21 August, 2015 Share Posted 21 August, 2015 Money. He came on at West Ham last year and did pretty well, would clearly have been at least a useful squad player, but we loaned him out. Tadic lost form and we had little creative spark. But we can't afford to have those wages on a sub. FFP is screwing clubs like us basically. He'll go back to Serie A and probably do well. Money -or more accurately value for money- is one thing; FFP is another. FFP has nothing to do with whether we keep one player like Ramirez. Dig Dig Posted 21 August, 2015 Author Share Posted 21 August, 2015 I don't understand why we're not prepared to give him a chance... Seems to be fitness and application. Koeman said it's difficult as he is always getting injured and can never get to the levels of the rest of the squad who are all extremely fit. Lighthouse Posted 21 August, 2015 Share Posted 21 August, 2015 dig dig got shot down in his OP. gaston is our best player, apparently and Dig Dig must be a skate for suggesting we should ship him out You can't tell the difference between writing a player off after 3 years and writing him off within 2 months and 8 days of signing? Gaston looked very promising when he first signed and was one of our best players until he was injured. Now is another matter, he's failed to deliver fairly consistently and doesn't seem to have the drive and desire to get fit and into the team. saintadam Posted 21 August, 2015 Share Posted 21 August, 2015 What kind of wages is Ramirez on anyways? Best paid in the club? Ive not been impressed by Ramirez but I don't really think he have got much of a chance. I wonder what would happen if he would be given a good run in the team, im sure he could do at least equally good as JWP.
