Saint Charlie Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Where did this guy go? If I remember right wasn't he in there with one of the potential owners? All IMHO of course.
Window Cleaner Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Friends with Leon Crouch wasn't he? no, Mary Corbett.
Window Cleaner Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Mary Corbett's cat. IMHO of course... named after the album by Don Fagen who we all know is an ancient member of Steely Dan. In fact Rickie don't lose that number (of goals scored) is quite apt really.
benali-shorts Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Distant links to Anthony Salz? Dark days, although quite entertaining forum days.
Saint Charlie Posted 8 November, 2012 Author Posted 8 November, 2012 Distant links to Anthony Salz? Dark days, although quite entertaining forum days. Yep - that was it I think. He used to make endless cryptic comments and always signoff with: All IMHO of course Morph This was the day of St David and helpmerhonda
Weston Saint Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 He was good friends with a leading lawyer and a CEO of a plc company Both were very sought after men in their fields. The latter was as a result of attending the same school. Think BBC, think bank investigation, think sports company, think leading london store think airline suppliers. His two friends were mixed up in one or the other but never both of them His friends were friendly with Crouch They were all season ticket holders then but I do not know if they are now.

Saint Charlie Posted 5 December, 2013 Author Posted 5 December, 2013 Saw Morph (and also Ed Chamberlain) at the game last night. Shame Morph doesn't post on here anymore, always enjoyed his takeover opinions. All IMHO of course.

david in sweden Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 Where did this guy go? If I remember right wasn't he in there with one of the potential owners? All IMHO of course. Charlie?.....is there some ulterior motive in questioning the club's ownership ?......or ?

I'm still here chaps. My friends, who are referred to in the quote above from Weston Saint, are just as avid Saints fans as they always have been, but now without the pressure we all experienced in those dark days We are all really enjoying the journey we are on. I'm so grateful that Marcus came along to rescue the club. We were so lucky. All IMHO of course. Morph
Saint Charlie Posted 5 December, 2013 Author Posted 5 December, 2013 Amazing. Buzzing off that, glad you still peruse the forum. All IMHO of course
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 December, 2013 Posted 5 December, 2013 I am glad but a tad surprised Morph is so grateful. The Liebherr group got a bargain at 14m and now own something worth 300m. Fair play to them Cortese spotted a bargain.... or was it Andrew Oldknow. Meanwhile the fans own nothing but their heritage and the city owns nothing but the hoped for inheritance. Interesting night tonight at Waterstones with Mick Channon and Terry Paine (not to forget Brian O'Neil) - the city and the community ultimately own the soul of SFC and while the bricks and mortar might be under the control of someone who cares not about tradition, in the end it will be our children and our children's children who will reclaim our club for our city. Heavy stuff I know but after listening to two legends tonight explain what SFC means to them, then I can't help the philosophy.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 December, 2013 Author Posted 5 December, 2013 Most fans just go to watch their team though, week after week no matter what League, Manager, Players or Chairman/Owner is involved. And most would rather watch this team in the PL than a L1/2 outfit owned by some Saints fans who cannot separate self interest from the development of the club. Surely? You hear all these whispers of discontent, yet I don't know any Saints fans who are anything apart from loving the last couple of years. For once we have an identity that isn't being patronised.
Cascadia Saint Posted 6 December, 2013 Posted 6 December, 2013 This was the day of St David and helpmerhonda Haha! Terrible times, but holy crap those two were hilarious.

It was never a club that embraced it fans unless you were a mate. Fans who were in with the directors etc would get complimentary tickets and drinks Etc but. I doubt there is many fans who got many perks over the years.i know I was only ever a mug punter and cash ow in the owners eye for the last 44 years. So there is no difference for me
