Thedelldays Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 shelvey , sturridge ad welbeck....massive LOL good to see Osman there though
Saint_clark Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 I can understand Shelvey and (to a lesser extent) Welbeck, but Sturridge has been awful so far this season. Amazed Defoe, Bent or Crouch aren't there.

Amazed Defoe, Bent or Crouch aren't there. Have u forgotten the England manager, and bloke who picks the team, is Roy Hodgson ? I bet he's right p*ssed off that the rule change he requested from FIFA, that would allow him to pick the whole Liverpool squad irrespective of nationality, didnt come through in time..

Amazed Defoe, Bent or Crouch aren't there. I don't know their ages and if they can easily manage with a WC in two years but it looks like Roy is making the emphasis to use the younger players sooner and build a team while in qualification rather than an after thought or when the injuries hit.

Hence Leon Osman.....!
Doctoroncall Posted 8 November, 2012 Author Posted 8 November, 2012 Hence Leon Osman.....! and Gerrard, but who else is above thirty? A balance of older, wiser heads (sn!gger) with the younger squad.
Hatch Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Its like Hodgson is stuck in the early 1980s and has had a panic attack, 'oh sh^t, I dont know what to do , I'll just pick loads of Liverpool players, they are the best team'
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 Decent team, love how people say we need to start the youth more and ditch the older, less motivated heads and then baulk when he picks a youthful vibrant side. I really dont care about england right now, hopefully the boys can reignite my passion. Feiw Welbeck is and will be a decent player

Hatch Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 4 out of 20 odd ? Two are regulars ? referring to since he has been in charge, Henderson, Kelly
krissyboy31 Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 (edited) Always thought Leon Osman was a good player and couldn't understand why he was always overlooked but I had sympathy with the argument on th RL thread that it was a waste of time debuting a player who is 30 or above. This selection has left me somewhat bemused. Edited 8 November, 2012 by krissyboy31
Bensfcno1 Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 This has to be the worst England squad in recent memory?
Turkish Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 shelvey , sturridge ad welbeck....massive LOL good to see Osman there though Shelvey is a good player Jamie.
Thedelldays Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Shelvey is a good player Jamie. yet to see nothing more than a half decent player....rash in the tackle...nothing more than a decent first touch and poor in front of goal.. he may come good but being an automatic pick now is mental
This Charming Man Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Makes me laugh that Sterling is in there. I've yet to see him have a major impact in any game I've seen him in. He is fast with little to no end product.
Saint Garrett Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Shelvey hasn't done enough for me to be in the squad. Don't think he's all that. Sterling is a handy player and will do a job in the coming years. Pretty average squad though quality wise, lets hope it's got a bit more fight than the normal England bunch.
Crab Lungs Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Leon Britton. Quality cm, overlooked. Gah.
LGTL Posted 9 November, 2012 Posted 9 November, 2012 Makes me laugh that Sterling is in there. I've yet to see him have a major impact in any game I've seen him in. He is fast with little to no end product. The english Steve De Ridder then! If Sterling was in his twenties nobody would be interested in him.

It's a young squad for a friendly! Werent you one of the ones moaning about the same old players being picked like Downing and Milner when the last few squads have been announced?!!

This is the generation Les Reed wrote the coaching manual for!
Thedelldays Posted 12 November, 2012 Posted 12 November, 2012 Zaha in the squad Bit of a kick in the teeth to Nathan dyer I guess
Smirking_Saint Posted 12 November, 2012 Posted 12 November, 2012 Zaha in the squad Bit of a kick in the teeth to Nathan dyer I guess Dont think Dyer is eligible to play for anyone else, and although friendlies dont LOCK inclusion in it must help
alpine_saint Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Is Anders in the squad for them ? I do hope he plays and sticks it to Woy and his Scousers.
Hatch Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 I looked at the suggested team this morning, and even though we are bottom of the league and playing shyte, I would still only get excited about signing 6 of them.

I haven't seen all the withdrawals yet, but looking at the squad in the OP the only player I wouldn't be excited about signing is Cleverly.
Gemmel Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Ha ha .... Butt fooked by the Swedes with our own National Anthem
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 England are playing just like Saints. No final ball and sh*t at the back.
bridge too far Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Good to see Anders still in his national squad
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Good to see Anders still in his national squad How many caps now? (Awaits Swedish David....) The crosses for the goals where good, and the finishes. Still a little loose at the back but after half time we looked capable.
twopintsnilnil Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Anders can still pick a pass can't he! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Saint_clark Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 How many caps now? (Awaits Swedish David....) The crosses for the goals where good, and the finishes. Still a little loose at the back but after half time we looked capable. 135, very impressive.
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Ibrahimovic Hat-trick. 3-2. Probably the best performance a mass English audience has ever seen him produce.
Turkish Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Another Saints boo boy doing well Slow, lightweight and lazy FFS.
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 WOW one of the best goals I've ever seen. Sh*t clearance, but holy hell, that finish, that phenomenal finish.
Bearsy Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 That ain't something you see every day! Mental!
alpine_saint Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL at England being royally butt-f**ked by Sweden. Great to see Anders lay up one of the goals.
bpsaint Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 10 minutes behind as I paused the game, what a goal! Good to see England losing again, give the media something to moan about.
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 His 2nd goal wasn't bad either And the free kick!! Placed it on a postage stamp....
jawillwill Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 And the free kick!! Placed it on a postage stamp.... Royal Mail would hate you if that's where you put the postage stamp!
Colinjb Posted 14 November, 2012 Posted 14 November, 2012 Royal Mail would hate you if that's where you put the postage stamp! Yes, Zlatan just showed them how to make a reliable delivery, made them look bad.
