Boruc investigation complete and he's back in contention....

Boruc is crap and as some Celtic fans put it "a Clown". Gazza is good, made some good saves to keep us in the game if only we had a good defence half of the goals he has conceded probably wouldn't of been goals. Boruc, well i don't think i've seen him save anything, he's put the defence under more pressure in more than 1 occasion and some of the goals he's conceded has been his fault. Time with Boruc could mean more goals conceded while time with Gazza would give him the experience he needs.

Really? What has he done to suggest he's not ready?

Probably the best keeper in the squad.

BUT right now the problem is the defence in front of him.

What we really need in goal is someone with experience who MIGHT be able to organise and help the defence in terms of holding the line etc.

From what I've seen of Gazza he seems a bit quiet still. Can't level that charge at Boruc.

Interesting that all the goals Kelvin let in were his fault yet all the goals Boruc and Gazza let in seem to be the defences fault. I haven't seem much from Gazza apart from his kicking to suggest he is miles better than Kelvin. I haven't seem Boruc play but solent were less than complimentry about him in the games he played. I think Nigel just needs to pick one keeper and stick with him all this chopping and changing can't be helping the back four.

I rate Gazzaniga as a decent goalkeeper. Boruc has done nothing in the two games so far that could label him as a good keeper. Very poor at WH and looked pretty static v Spurs. He has to earn his place and Gazzaniga has done nothing to deserve dropping as Boruc has done nothing to suggest that he deserves to be picked ahead of Gazzaniga. Our selection of goalkeepers is bizarre, Davis is obviously behind Gazzaniga and Boruc but is always substitute, (I know about his influence etc) that is nonsense.

Throw in a kid an ruin him in the worst defence in premier league history

Sounds like a good idea

Ruin him? How so? Give a young lad a golden opportunity to excel when playing at the very top of the game is another way of putting it, but probably won't sit well with you.

And this would be the worst defencive record in Premiership history after 10 games, certainly, with arguably the worst early fixture list against top teams in Premiership history too. But as the season is only a quarter in, I think that some perspective is in order here.

Payers have been called in for a meeting.

I'm seeing it that Adkins has asked for and been given complete free licence for 2 or 3 games to do things entirely his own way and he'll be judged on that. If he's still found wanting, he's out. If we see an upturn he'll have proved his point.

I see the fixture list excuse is in full flow

Absolutely what I was thinking. Hope this is the Cortese deal - NC butts out of team selection/obeying 'must play if fit' orders/contractual obligations/ formation edicts - and NA is judged on results. Might only be 1 game though...

Yep, just said more or less the same on the "continuing" thread.

His big challenege now is to raise the spirits of the players, of course.

Hopefully it does work then NA has it his way from here on in.

Adkins having no control over team style and formation is just a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

Er..no it's not. After the West Ham game he spoke to a journo mate of mine and another hack. He collared them in a quiet corridor, away from the rest of the press and clearly had things he wanted to get off his chest (but very much off the record).

Plus not getting in any really decent players

Ah no,that's down to the transfer commitee I'm afraid. Who is to blame is the idiot who wanted JRod at all costs last summer, there was plenty of time to get him in January. I do not doubt that was someone who thinks he is in with the England set up. We did not need JRod,Mayuka and Lambert when we had Sharp and Lee in reserve.

Either tell us what was said or shut up. No need for b*llocks like this.

Will Cortese like being shown up like that though? I cant see it ending well either way. If Adkins gets it right it'll make Nic Nak look a plum.

i agree with Les on this one. It's time for perspective. With over a quarter the season gone and us projecting to achieve a MASSIVE 15 points and a record high number of goals condeded now is the time for perspective. I mean, its not like any of the other teams near the bottom have EVER beaten any of the teams near the top. They just write those games off, just Wigan did last season when their last 6 games which they need to win to stay up included Newcastle, Man United and Arsenal, all teams who finished in the top 5.

So Guly wont be coming on or starting then?

Shame - I had my stopwatch ready and everything.

We'll see wont we. It seems like Nige has told Cortese to keep his nose out. As i said, if that extends to contract issues or not we'll see. We might be hit with legal action for breach of contract if it means Guly doesn't get his 15 minutes minimum.

Tim flowers only became the keeper he was by being kept busy by our crap defence' date=' he was also very young at the time, didn't seem to harm him too much[/quote']

From memory actually he was taken out of the firing line when we signed John Burridge. By the time Burridge had moved on Flowers had learned a bit from JB and returned to the team a much better keeper. Not saying the same should happen to Gazzaniga as every situation is different and only those closest to the players will know what the best thing is for his long term development.

If true, do we credit NC for our 2 promotions?

If NA is responsible for team selection and tactics, then he is showing up to be pretty average. If he's having all the decisions made for him, then he should stand up for himself and the team (unless he's just a yes man here for the contract).

For me, he comes out of it poorly either way.
