Lighthouse Posted 7 November, 2012 Posted 7 November, 2012 RIP. Loved watching (repeats of) Dad's Army when I was a kid and this was in the 90s. A true timeless classic and Jones was one of my favourite characters.
Wurzel Posted 7 November, 2012 Posted 7 November, 2012 It surprised me that despite his character's appearance he was one of the youngest actor's in the Dad's Army cast. Can't be many of them left now. Ian Lavender (Pike), any more?

Fitzhugh Fella Posted 7 November, 2012 Posted 7 November, 2012 Not many people know this but Clive Dunn's god son was my best man at my first wedding. HTH

Dimond Geezer Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 [video=youtube_share;6KJGJRd8pGE] Permission to speak Sir, This song holds special memories for me, my own Grandfather passed away in '72 & this was still being regularly played on the radio, whenever I hear it I think of my own grandad. Dads Army is one of the greatest shows ever produced by the BBC. Rip L/cpl Jones & thanks for the memories.
rooney Posted 8 November, 2012 Posted 8 November, 2012 I met him once in Vale do Lobo, Portugal. We went to the Barrington Country Club for a drink. His daughter had an art exhibition there and when he opened the door to welcome us he said " the drinks are on the house tonight and I am the house!" He was a pleasant man and made the point of going around to chat to all the people there. He told us he had a Restaurtant at Quartera and gave us his card.
