patred44 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Rob Jones @msnsportrob Hearing strong rumours that Southampton have sacked Nigel Adkins hope they are only rumours:eek:
lordswoodsaints Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 I don't,we are in serious trouble and anybody praying that Adkins can get us out of trouble are delusional, just watching last nights game will show you that.....there was nothing positive to come out of that game and we are in serious danger of being cut adrift.
pap Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Just saw this myself. Really wouldn't be a surprise.
The Kraken Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Rob Jones@msnsportrob Hoping the Adkins rumours are just that, rumours. It would be a travesty. He’s done wonders there.
dubai_phil Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Rob Jones@msnsportrob Hoping the Adkins rumours are just that, rumours. It would be a travesty. He’s done wonders there. The heart says this. for the first time, the eyes last night told me something different
Golden Balls Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Wouldn't be too down about it if true. Done well here but clearly taken us as far as he can.
Turkish Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 (edited) Nixon was just asked if there are any truth in the rumours and he said "i expect this to happen" Could be gospel, could be a nothing comment from a lying journalist. I'll leave you to decide. edit. Now tweeted "heard he would go last night from someone with an interest in the scene. Expect some news today" Edited 6 November, 2012 by Turkish

I'll leave you to decide. Alan Nixon got everything wrong about us, and this is negative news, so I'm filing it in the "bullsh*t from lying journo" pile.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Oh no, Ollie Lancashire's prophecy is coming true!
SaintNeil90 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Alan Nixon got everything wrong about us, and this is negative news, so I'm filing it in the "bullsh*t from lying journo" pile. Apart from getting the majority of our transfer dealings correct.

sfc4prem Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Gutted. I think we'll get relegated whoever the manager is so we may as well have some CONTINUITY and LOYALTY and keep the man that has dragged us to the Premier League from 20th in League One.
Turkish Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Alan Nixon got everything wrong about us, and this is negative news, so I'm filing it in the "bullsh*t from lying journo" pile. I've done the same.
The Kraken Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Apart from getting the majority of our transfer dealings correct. Yes I know Neil. I was being a trifle sarcastic. I'll use smilies next time to make it clearer.
pap Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Bookies odds are shortening considerably on Nige being the first to go.
shurlock Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Oh no, Ollie Lancashire's prophecy is coming true! And prophecies about mystic saviours from the East(end)?
shurlock Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 I've done the same. Hope so given Nixon has contradicted half the stuff you've come up with.
SaintNeil90 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Markets opened on 'Next Southampton Manager'
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Type 'Nigel Adkins' into google. 'Nigel Adkins sacked' is the second option, oddly after 'Nigel Adkins Wife'
Leicestersaint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 I would be very disappointed about this- what a shallow world football has become.
Norm Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Just had a chat with a pal who tells me that NA has gone. Mind you, he could be hearing the same rumours!
Thedelldays Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 I would be very disappointed about this- what a shallow world football has become. become..it always has...when wotte was moved on...were you disappointed then...?
patred44 Posted 6 November, 2012 Author Posted 6 November, 2012 Nigel Adkins odds to be next Blackpool manager shortens from 66/1 to 4/1 in minutes
Webby Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Type 'Nigel Adkins' into google. 'Nigel Adkins sacked' is the second option, oddly after 'Nigel Adkins Wife' Not for me.
beavis17 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Simon Peach @SimonPeach Adkins still at the #SaintsFC helm despite mounting speculation over his future. Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf.
Sour Mash Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 become..it always has...when wotte was moved on...were you disappointed then...? I must have missed Wotte getting us promoted two years on the trot, scoring loads, playing decent football, coming across as a bright, articulate young manager. Can you remind us about all those times as you love that comparison so much?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Simon Peach @SimonPeach Adkins still at the #SaintsFC helm despite mounting speculation over his future. Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf. Good!

Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf. Good to hear. I really hope we do not sack the man who is statistically the best post war manager of the club.
patred44 Posted 6 November, 2012 Author Posted 6 November, 2012 Simon Peach @SimonPeach Adkins still at the #SaintsFC helm despite mounting speculation over his future. Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf. that doesn't reassure me
Saint Garrett Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Simon Peach @SimonPeach Adkins still at the #SaintsFC helm despite mounting speculation over his future. Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf. Fantastic. Really want Nigel to turn it around and believe he is more than capable.
sandwichsaint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Walking out the ground last night and seeing NA walk half way across the pitch, said to the lads I was with, 'that's a good-bye wave'. Top bloke, thanks and good luck in the future. Whole club needs to have a look at itself today, Nige has carried the can for multiple failings IMHO.

obelisk Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Much as I'm disappointed with the way things have gone so far this season I'd prefer Adkins to stay. Stability might be preferable to upheaval right now.
beavis17 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 You can probably lock in swansea as his last game if we lose tbh This.
Ken Tone Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Simon Peach @SimonPeach Adkins still at the #SaintsFC helm despite mounting speculation over his future. Expecting to see him at Thursday's pre-match press conf. Good. I'd rather go down with him in charge, and give him another year. If he doesn't look as if he will bring us back up, that is the time to sack him. We're trying to build a long term successful club here ...not just a vehicle for some temporary mercenary. That means trusting and supporting someone, even if they have a poor spell. Some of you lot need to have a word with yourselves. Well done to the fans singing his name last night btw.

Webby Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Our next 6 fixtures are, on paper, easier than our last 10. I'd like Nigel to stay. Ramirez has just returned. Nigel needs a chance to build the side around him.

However, if we keep getting dicked then players confidence in the manager will be smashed to bits and will linger on next season.

VectisSaint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Its not the NA being sacked that would really worry me (though I'd be disappointed) its the Plan B that would be really worrying. Les Reed and Dean Wilkins caretaker manager for our upcoming important games, we tried with Wilkins once before, please note again. The time for Adkins to have gone was 3 or 4 weeks ago, not now.
Torres Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 so, you would rather go down..and MAYBE come back up..but sack him if we dont....rather than just try and stay up the first time.. we are talking about a multi-million pound business with peoples jobs at stake here Quite right. I think Ken has forgotten that changing manager will definitely ensure our survival this season.
