Thedelldays Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 the left hand holding the ball...never fails to make me LOL
Raging Bull Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Looks like a couple of members of this forum!
OldNick Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 sign him up, we have had 3 keepers this season,at least he seems to have control of the ball
captainchris Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 That did make me laugh on a bleak day....
SuperSAINT Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 It's like some sort of bad dream.... The fact we ever had a Midget Milan Mandaric statue outside St Mary's boggles the mind.
Turkish Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Even now, 5 (?) years on, it never fails to raise laugh.
Doctoroncall Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Has the sculpturer ever worked again after producing that? it really is incredibly poor.
lordswoodsaints Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Just another sad but funny day from the Lowe era
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 If someone could resurrect THAT reaction thread I'll be forever in their debt. so funny.
beavis17 Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Where's the picture of the morons that handed their season tickets back when you need it...?
notnowcato Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Cheers Hatch. I'm going to task my 3 year old with making a replica with playdoh.
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Has the sculpturer ever worked again after producing that? it really is incredibly poor. Superb, Hatch. Thanks for the laugh. A pity that our summer transfer activity was approached with the same level of competence as this statue. Ian Brennan is a world renowned wood sculptor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Brennan Who the f**k thought he had a clue with bronze, I'll never know. EDIT: I dare someone to edit that Wikipedia entry.
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 If someone could resurrect THAT reaction thread I'll be forever in their debt. so funny. That was utterly epic!
sandwichsaint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Love it and still good to see it's not every teacher that 'helps' kids with their DT coursework.
latter day saint Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 i tried my hardest but just couldn't help laughing, even the missus did when she looked over my shoulder maybe they should flash that image up on the scoreboards as the players come out on to the pitch? would relieve some tension before ko or how about a life size inflatable replica floating over the pitch ?

The Kraken Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 "It is very rare I am lost for words but I saw the statue last week and it is awesome - a tremendous tribute to a great man. [southampton] Fans have waited a long time for this and it is going to be fantastic. I really believe it will be the best football statue anywhere both in size and the amount of detail" Ted Bates Trust chairman, Dave Ford.
broncoboy Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 This never fails to cheer me up. Great statue NA waving goodbye
chocco boxo Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Highlighted in The Mail today in an article about the best and worst statues, always makes me laugh! shame our defence does now!

saint_sinner Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Thanks Alps, it seems like most of his commissions are coronets and crowns! Ian Brennan seems to have removed this statue from his CV just as Redknapps SFC relegation is never mentioned on his CV. Also Leon Crouch paid for the replacement statue out of his own pocket so I'm told!
LGTL Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 The reaction from the trust was the most hilarious aspect of the whole thing. Did they think we were all blind?!

Whitey Grandad Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Brilliant! Where can I buy a miniature for my mantlepiece?
