Olallana Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Looking at the attributes Rodriguez got I definitely think he could be a player like Shane Long IF he only got in the face of the opponents and became a pain in the ass to them. Now he´s too much of a nice guy but as I said, football attributes are pretty much the same. Got pace, good feets, good shot but there are miles apart regarding the mentality aspect. I think Shane Long and team confidence was pretty much the factors dividing the teams tonight.
Colbury Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Is this a wind up. Rodriguez is completely out of his depth. No confidence, strength, pace or goal threat. Burnley must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Gambol2K9 Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 I think his movement is good and he offers us something different. Give him a season before making a judgement.
S-Clarke Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 I don't think he's that bad, but his good movement is being let down by his awful touch, which isn't something you'd usually associate with him. We're not exactly the place for young players to thrive at the moment, which is why I think young W-P has been dragged out of the firing line. Saint Troy Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Spoke to a burnley lad at the weekend who rates him hugely having watched him a fair bit. The attitude thing is interesting, thought tonight he could be more aggressive but also lallana couldve tried more to win a penalty (not suggesting I believe in it but it happens) and certainly feel as a team we give the ref an easy time

If he put himself about a bit more he could have fashioned a couple of good chances in the first half. I wanted to get on there to show him how to shoulder-barge defenders, he was so ineffectual (i.e. "Kill the f-g bastard"). Basically he should drop the nice guy bit and get a bit of arrogance and attitude like Fat Face Rooney has - a few bookings would do him good (4 a season only). Sorry, you do realise this is a forum right? Players / managers are heroes or villains based on the last match they are involved in. Everything must be an instant yes or no. I agree on Rodriguez. Beginning to look far better and will hopefully continue to settle. Just a shame some people seem to have put him in the Guly / Fox role... Use the right sticks to beat him with, if you must
