the scud Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 I'm going for a 3 - 1 win for Saints however, i feel that we could be playing in extra time as i think it will end 1-1 at the end of normal time.
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 i would like to think we will win this well, i have a feeling that we will again find it hard to hit the net saints win 1.0
Foxy Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Will be interesting. If we score first I think it will be fairly comfortable, but harder work if Exeter get something to hold onto. 0-2 saints to win at a canter
SaintDonkey Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 McGoldrick 4 goals in the last 3 matches? Add another 4 in this one with Thomson and Lallana weighing in to give us a fantastic morale boosting 6-1 victory (late goal conceded after substitutions disrupt the previous dominance). COYR
bungle Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Why predict a draw and then not elaborate on how you feel et and/or penalties will go?
South City Si Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 1-3 Saints. Why not. McG, Lallana and John.
Weston Super Saint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Why predict a draw and then not elaborate on how you feel et and/or penalties will go? We will get a draw, then a replay and another match to distract us from the league.
Micky Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 McGoldrick 4 goals in the last 3 matches? COYR Your not very good at this prediction malarky are you....!!!
Gully Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 We will get a draw, then a replay and another match to distract us from the league. League cup so there won't be a replay. I reckon 2-0
Weston Super Saint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 League cup so there won't be a replay. I reckon 2-0 Excellent. 1-1, extra time, and lose on penalties - because we always lose on penalties these days
jjsaint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Mansfield Town, Notts County, Peterborough... Exeter? I'll go for the Grecians 2-1.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Stunning display from Saints youth: Exeter 0-4 Saints
NickG Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 one thing with saints this year -we will be hard to predict!
SaintDonkey Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Your not very good at this prediction malarky are you....!!! You wait and see, I've been right before. Never about Saints winning admittedly but you never know
Papa Shango Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 2-0 Saints. I'm not normally confident about these away cup games against lower opposition, but for some reason I am this time.
offix Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 I am strangely optimistic about this one, and actually think we might just sneak by in this one with a last minute goal; Exeter 1 - 2 Saints
bjk Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 They have Marcus Stewart up front so he's bound to score against us. a hard fought 2-1 win for Saints.
RoswellSaint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 I said we would win 2-1 at Cardiff, I am going to keep going with a Saints 2-1 win until I get it right.
Weston Saint Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 This is not the usual overpaid Saints players thinking it will be a stroll and letting everyone down. This is a team of eager youngsters with plenty to prove 2-0 to Saints
de-fence Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 I can't believe by the 30th post there's only one person tipping Exeter and that's on penalties. I'm gonna go with... Saints 5 1 Exeter hopefully...
ECFC_81 Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Dont expect an easy ride from us, we are up for this and contrary to what you believe about football at our level, we do not play direct route one football, we play it how it should be played...on the ground! Its what got us promoted.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 Dont expect an easy ride from us, we are up for this and contrary to what you believe about football at our level, we do not play direct route one football, we play it how it should be played...on the ground! Its what got us promoted. What condition is the pitch like at the moment at St James' Park?
ECFC_81 Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 The pitch is best I have seen it at SJP for years, I went to the friendly against...(dare I say it) Pompey and it looked like a Snooker table, it was lush. Alot of work has been done on it over the summer.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 The pitch is best I have seen it at SJP for years, I went to the friendly against...(dare I say it) Pompey and it looked like a Snooker table, it was lush. Alot of work has been done on it over the summer. Good, will suit our style aswell. I can only hope it doesn't rain like it did in Cardiff.
St Marco Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 I got a feeling they might score 1st early and that will hopefully spark us into life and dish out a mauling. I'm going to go for a 1-4 win
saintrich Posted 11 August, 2008 Posted 11 August, 2008 , we do not play direct route one football, we play it how it should be played...on the ground! Fantastic... we'll out-pass you then. Exeter 1-3 Saints
ottery st mary Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 The sun is out and hopefully the pitch will now dry out for tonight and knowing the Exeter team should be a good game with The mighty Saints winning 4-1.
Saint for ever Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 We will win, im confident this will start a successful season. Going for 3-1.
Mole Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Our best XI is of League 1 standard and i think we'll be putting out a weakened side of an already weak side. Therefore unless Exeter rest players i think it's going to a level playing field in terms of quality. I fancy a draw, but it could go either way.
Nexstar Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 i think one of the teams will get a lateish equaliser, so 2-2. Saints to win 4-2 after extra time.
Denzil Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 2 - 0 Exeter. Our record against inferior opposition is horrific.
mprobert Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 I'd love to see a confidence boosting Saints win - but they never make it easy for us
benjii Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 If the Exeter lad makes a 4th post 't'will be funny. On Solent they reckon Schneiderlin might play CB with Wotton in midfield.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Non-league teams play quite a lot of "proper" football. It's odd really - leagues one and two play sh*t and then Conference Premier/North/South play decent footy.
Saint_clark Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 From now on you can name 7 subs instead of 5 in the Carling Cup.
