Crab Lungs Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 Absolute ****** Exposed my arse. Exposed to being a pants footballer maybe All he does is try to bomb forward and can't be bothered to put the effort in to getting back when he gives away the ball. This so called left foot he has to? What's his cross ratio!? 1 in 10 maybe. He's a donkey who can't defend to save his life. How you can blame his incompetence on Lallana is beyond me. You could play Gareth bale on front of him and he'd still be a pile of ****. Adkins has clearly seen he is not up to it and the only reason he brought shaw on last night was he obviously has him in his plans to start the next game. If you had swapped Clyne and fox over last night fox would have been battered down the right even though Clyne was coping perfectly ok. It's clear that other clubs are picking Fox out as our week link and taking advantage of it as everything went down that side last night as its clear he's out of his depth You have to be, without doubt, one of the biggest turdtalkers on here, if not the biggest. I can't even be bothered to debate the point as you're clearly right and everyone else is wrong. You've clearly little grasp on reality, let alone football. Probably best you keep believing in what you're saying as it's best for everyone.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 6 November, 2012 Author Posted 6 November, 2012 I agree with you , it's just frustrating to watch. Even Gary Neville spotted it after 90 minutes so why can't our boys. Shaw will start next match for sure. If Adkins is still here
Chez Posted 6 November, 2012 Posted 6 November, 2012 One of my ambitions for the season is to see Fox stopping someone from putting a cross in. It would be awesome if he could do that for me! Just one time. I would give him standing ovation! To avoid disappointment, aim lower is my advice.

Lazlo78 Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Usual Twitter-rumours sending Danny Fox to Wolves. Haven't checked sources, so the rumour may well have been started elsewhere on this forum
DT Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Would be good move. For us and him. He's too wasteful to make it in the Prem at the moment (and not great at marking) but dead ball delivery not bad.

He's too wasteful to make it in the Prem at the moment (and not great at marking) but dead ball delivery not bad. Would leave us with a massive lack of cover should shaw get injured or have a dip in form, all we'd have to cover is an untired centre half and a youth team player.
student Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 If you could bring in competition for Shaw and get rid of Fox you'd have done some good business! Looks a constant liability and has that smug look about him. It's clear you were trying to get rid in the summer and bring in Buttner and have Shaw as his competition. Maybe the scouts have been working hard and have found a new alternative.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Think we should keep him unless we have a good left back to come in. However can't see many players wanting to come in to sit on the bench.

saintsdan Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 who do you get to come in that is better than DF who is willing to sit on the bench for a team in 15th place in the league..? Indeed, and more sprecifically to sit on the bench as understudy to a 17 year old (however good he is!)
DT Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I know, at Brighton, still on big wages. Just a dream of mine.
Thedelldays Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 The return of Wayne Bridge and why would he be happy to sit on the bench at his age.....that is probably why he went to the NPC anyway and not do a michael owen
a1ex2001 Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 and why would he be happy to sit on the bench at his age.....that is probably why he went to the NPC anyway and not do a michael owen He's been happy to sit on the bench most seasons since he left us and I have no reason to believe our bench is any less comfortable especially now we have them flash new chairs. the reason he is playing in the Championship is simply that his last few loans in the prem have shown him to no longer be upto the job

DT Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 So he can step in when we sell Shaw to Chelsea next season. (sorry, in answer to dell days)
itchen_dan Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I'm a Fox fan but Fox out and someone like Martin Olsson in.... Potential chance of player + cash deal with Blackburn as well? That would be a very good piece of business in this window!
a1ex2001 Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 He is about 4.6 times better than Danny Fox. Didn't say he wasn't was just saying that he'd be more than happy to sit on our bench but isn't up to premier league standards much like Fox in fact. I'm a Fox fan but Fox out and someone like Martin Olsson in.... Potential chance of player + cash deal with Blackburn as well? That would be a very good piece of business in this window! Now Olsson I wouldn't expect to come here and sit on the bench behind a 17 year old and therin lies the problem rplacing fox with a player who is good enough to play in the premier league is very difficult when they know that Shaw is first choice so they will be waiting for him to break/be sold/loose form.
Andre Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Definitely a Championship player, although before Shaw came in he wasn't awful. Deserves more time on the pitch though, and Wolves are a big-ish club worthy of him. Good luck to him, and thanks for the time.
SuperSAINT Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Alex Goring Crook @ @alex_crook Looks like Danny Fox could be leaving #saintsfc b4 transfer deadline. Couple of championship clubs interested.
Saint Charlie Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Personally wouldnt let him go without another LB coming in.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Blackburn are asking 7m for Olsonn which is why West Ham have pulled out of that deal.
Saint Charlie Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Olsson is one of the most overrated players mentioned on this board.
MOSaint Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Can Forren cover LB? Otherwise it is a big of an odd move unless we are trying to bring in a LB (which seems unlikely given MP's comments and a few bits of info from local press suggesting we are done for the month).
Appy Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Unless we have sufficient cover keep him. Seems to be the only left footed player in our team who can take a corner.
Saints foreva Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Unless we have sufficient cover keep him. Seems to be the only left footed player in our team who can take a corner. I'd go as far as saying that Fox is the only player in the team who can take a corner. Our corners have been **** poor this season from both sides.
pingwing Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Definitely a Championship player, although before Shaw came in he wasn't awful Sorry but he really was awful! Seemed content to just not listen to anyone around him and play 5 yards further up the pitch than the other 3 on the back line, followed by having no pace to get back and cover, no ability to close someone done or make a tackle firmly puts in that awful LB category. Got away with it in the champ because the defence could play to cover it (or more importantly the ball was at the other end of the pitch where no one would notice), found out embarrassingly this season and we will do well to get the money we spent on him back. Cannot be forgiven for Arsenal away where half the goals came down from the right because Fox was no where, proven by the fact he was there to score at half time when he should have been at LB...
DT Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 There seems to be a commonly held view that the only players we must buy are those who are better than our first choicers. I think think this is to miss the point a little. We need strength in depth to cover positions, so therefore cover for Shaw at LB could conceivably not be as good as him but better than Fox. This applies to other positions in my view too. Obviously, the best scenario is to improve the first team, but this seems fairly settled, assuming we hang on to our best players.
Appy Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I'd go as far as saying that Fox is the only player in the team who can take a corner. Our corners have been **** poor this season from both sides. Not far off, Lallana has improved, but still awful.
Bearsy Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 I'd go as far as saying that Fox is the only player in the team who can take a corner. Our corners have been **** poor this season from both sides. Ramirez was taking pretty good corners against Everton.
captainchris Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Unless we have sufficient cover keep him. Seems to be the only left footed player in our team who can take a corner. I have better idea, let's get rid of him, he is just terrible and anyone would be better!
captainchris Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Alex Goring Crook @ @alex_crook Looks like Danny Fox could be leaving #saintsfc b4 transfer deadline. Couple of championship clubs interested. Thank God!
captainchris Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Would leave us with a massive lack of cover should shaw get injured or have a dip in form, all we'd have to cover is an untired centre half and a youth team player. Even with fox here we have a 'massive lack of cover' at left back so no Point in keeping him at all.....
Saint Garrett Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Can't believe so many people have written him off at not even being capable as a back up, not sure who they're expecting to play there if Shaw gets injured. Probably one of the CB's out of position. People are quick to forget the part he played in our promotion last season.
EBS1980 Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 If Fox does leave we will get someone else in. We only have a 17yr old as starter and no back up, we wouldn't let out backup leave and cover it with a centre back.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 First off, I don't think Fox is as bad as some are stating - he's perfectly good cover for Shaw. However, Clyne did exceptionally well I thought at LB and Richardson appears to still be around for RB duties, plus there's Cork and Yoshi who could step in too. If Fox is to go, I'm not convinced we'll see a new face in this window.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 If Fox does leave we will get someone else in. We only have a 17yr old as starter and no back up, we wouldn't let out backup leave and cover it with a centre back. Clyne did a solid enough job there. Apparently Forren has played there in the past also. Not ideal granted, but it wouldn't be the end of the world I guess.
david in sweden Posted 29 January, 2013 Posted 29 January, 2013 Olsson is one of the most overrated players mentioned on this board. have to agree with that. He might be rated because he's a Swedish international, (but TBF there isn't much competition)... and I've not seen him play so many outstanding games......
