notnowcato Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 (edited) Doesn't quite work like that. If you insult someone the same way 5 times, it doesn't count as one offence. As for your first sentence, I think you're both guilty of that in all honesty. I don't know why you let someone you've never met in a different country rile you up like this. Is Weymouth in a different country? Edited 5 November, 2012 by notnowcato

With all due respect, all I did was give an opinion on the thread theme, I didnt abuse anybody or set out to wind-up anyone specifically. All I did was call it pointless and then explain why I felt that. Is calling something pointless inherently offensive and/or abusive ? I think not. I was thinking of the subject, not the response it would get. He then started the abuse, which is the reason I assume he has been infracted and I havent. I aint perfect, but as far as I can tell I largely observe the site rules. Unless a rule about posting negative opinions about the team has recently been added, of course... The only thing I possibly should/could have done better is put "imo" after, I suppose.

Giordano Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 This site should be renamed "Troll-web". There is hardly a thread that one or other of the notorious trolls here won't infect by the same-old Trolling commentary. The content varies but the sentiments remain the same, it's pyschological warfare until Saintswebforum is battered into dazed submission by weight of pessimistic words on any subject. Many SWF users are not necessarily catagorised as "happy-clappy" which is often the label attributed to anyone of a less than miserably pessimistic outlook regarding Saints but one needs to have almost infinite reserves of positivity to keep coming back here to read the constant wrist slitting commentary that infects even the most benign threads. Theres always a place for pessimism i guess but does'nt it get, well, just depressing, constantly finding the negatives then wailing and wringing hands over every single thing we do wrong? And theres so much opportunity to do so these days too. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Harder to find reasons to be cheerful in the words of Ian Dury but we won't be allowed that if the black bordered attachment to every thread carries on. Goodness knows Saints fans have had a hell of a lot to put up with over the years - our annual fight against relegation for instance - but that was never undermined by doomsayers on quite this scale as i recall- though of course that was pre-internet forums. So we are getting battered every week on the pitch and then for good measure we get more online. Ah well. It will get worse and worse and then we will fold and the club can disappear, maybe then some will have the ultimate satisfaction of saying "i told you we were ****e" that one last time, we switch off the lights close the doors and go and suipport Eastleigh or whoevers left... I really do not get posts like this. We are in a huge rut in terms of performance, and table position; of course it and our prospects in the light of various actions at the club are going to be discussed and speculated upon. Most people are under the impression the team is expected to play in a certain way, but doesnt have the quality and experience to do so, so we are easy to turn over. And because of the closed window (and maybe certain closed minds) regarding transfers, it seems highly unlikely we can do anything to change this, even in January when we may well be adrift. That's not negativity, pessimism or "trolling", its a reasonable assessment of where we are today. Its hardly suprising so many are down about it. What do you expect to be discussed ? In what tone ? JackFrost Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 I think 6ft 6 Yevhen Khacheridi fits the bill. Here he is putting Andy Carroll on his arse at the Euros. I mentioned a Turkish defender called Servet Cetin in the HCDAJFU thread back in the summer. Experienced at 31, 59 caps for Turkey, 6ft 3ins and a big brute of a defender (incidentally his nickname means 'a man who could choke a bear') and would have been a free agent. Stick him alongside a defender with pace like Yoshida and there's a potential partnership. I think yoshida is our best CB in terms of quality, his problem is he's either been played out of position or been surrounded by chaos. I think a dominant CB next to him and our defence will improve. Therein lies the problem. We were crying out for a dominant leader of a centre back all summer long. Yoshida is better than what we have, but he's not dominant (in the sense Jaidi was for us) and he doesn't seem to be a leader either. Hence why our defence so often looks like the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.
