hamster Posted 21 November, 2008 Share Posted 21 November, 2008 qwJust passing this on: Carol Service to commemorate the centenary of the Territorial Army The Territorial Army (TA) has this year celebrated its centenary, and to mark the closing of the year, the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Leader, Chairman and Members of Hampshire County Council, are hosting a Carol Service to mark the contribution of Territorial Soldiers, past and present, across a century of service. In the year of its Centenary, 1,500 Territorial soldiers will have been deployed on operations, which accounts for 8% of deployed Army capability. Over 15,000 Territorials have served on current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Service of Celebration, which is open to all, will be held at Winchester Cathedral on Monday 15 December 2008 at 7.00pm.
