Does anyone have an update on Ramirez fitness?

A current international, not playing in the UK; the member of the scouting network who divulged this said he wouldn't give his name as he would get in trouble.

What a shame.

Simon Peach also needs to up his game; he got pretty much every other transfer spot on in advance but clearly missed this massive news.

The loan wasn't approved until September; after the transfer window had shut. How does that fit in?

Making up for it afterwards. Apply for the loan to cover the potential spending, get it approved later despite the purchase not occuring, put it towards future action anyway.

The loan hit the accounts on 18th September; I think there was plenty of time to cancel it if the deal didn't come off. I'm assuming the deal didn't fall through on 31st August? Before that, so even more time. But no you're probably right, better to have the money months before we need it and pay the interest repayments on it until we maybe can spend it in future.

Cheers for this. If true, does show that the club made genuine efforts to strengthen our defense and give NA what he needed -and came agonisingly close to pulling off another coup. Cant legislate for what other clubs do however much people want to play the blame game. Anyway had it gone through, things might now be looking very different. Shame.

Shouldn't you just dismiss this as yet another mongboard rumour from someone trying to sound ITK? Afterall the ONLY ONE that know ANYTHING is the VM Man.

Total cr@p. We also had a bid of more than the Ramirez amount accepted by a club for their CB only for them to pull out at the last minute.

Where is your evidence of this? the words total crap seem to be more fitting to this

Just sharing info and rumour I had heard in a person on an internet forum type way.

Enjoy your evening's sarcasm.

Its not sarcasm. I enjoy hearing things like this that I haven't heard before. Just trying to put it into context, and see how accurate it is. Does it really sound feasible to you?

I said if true....And then pointed out, vague snippets on team selections, signings will always come out. Which is the case here.;)

Right now, nothing would surprise me.

But do you think your explanation is feasible? Given how so many people say what a great businessman Cortese is; would a man of such acclaim take out a massive loan at huge interest rates just to not spend it? I'd suggest not.

It wont be true will it, only today you said no one knows anything except for the VM Man. You should dismiss this as you have everything else and accused the poster of trying to make rumours sound like FACT.

Read my follow-up post where I clarified my point. I said that nobody knows jack about the club's dirtiest secrets, the high-level stuff which is what we've been discussing.

I then went on to say that I wouldn't be surprised if vague snippets leaked out about signings and selections. Which appears to be the case here. No?

Why would a man of such acclaim take out such a loan in the first place if he was also making further big money bids for players? Secret corridor and toilet installation doesn't cost that much....

Not really. Anyone who works at the club or with connections to it could probably find out information regarding what we've been discussing. Reeds role and influence etc, i wouldn't say that was particuarly high level stuff. In fact i'd say it was much easier to find out that than the details of a transfer for over £12m which fell through at the last minute and no one in the media was aware of and has never been mentioned before.

You are full of crap you had no hard evidence and tried to pass it off as fact that we' d put in a bid for more than twelve million for a defender, and then say I speak cr@p pffft !

Shurlock already likes the rumour so much he eliminated doubt its a rumour.

Obviously??? Whether true or not (and we now know that there was a lot of spinning from the Bologna side and by your own admission, you are a credulous type), the fact is that we had serious money lined up to buy a CB.

But we're not talking about Reed's role -any Tom, **** or Harry can find that out from an organisational flow chart on the OS. We're talking specific allegations which are pretty damning i.e. Adkins transfer list was ignored and he got none of his targets due to Reed's Rasputin-like influence. That's pretty high level in my book.

I never said it was easy to find out the details of transfers - rather it's more likely that vague snippets get leaked. Here with the alleged CB, we don't know the name or the club involved, though it does corroborate Nixon's fleeting statements that we were going big time for a CB.

Oh joy, I see we're back on having a go at someone who has done nothing to deserve it, except perhaps being employed in a position most of those dishing out the abuse would love to have.

Damn straight; I'd love to leave my job and become Nik Nak's errand boy. Who wouldn't FFS?

Does anyone actually know who Adkins target were?

So now its a FACT we had huge amounts of money set aside for a CB, based on a mongboard post and we are taking everything Nixon says as gospel, i guess we must also take it as gospel that he said we didnt know which centre back we wanted, something he said a week before the window shuts and 6 weeks after Adkins said we were looking to bring in one or two centre backs as a priority. This does really suggest to me that we were "going big time for a CB" or we had the same priorities as the manager. More that it was a bit of shambles. Does it to you?

"He's back in full training and has been doing some amazing things in training." - the words of a first team player last night.

"Hopefully he'll figure at some point on Monday." - my words, just then.

Any news on Cork too, Ess? Both of those back would be a bonus.

I didn't ask, tbh; It came up in conversation en route to London in between listening to a different player's sh1t music through my stereo and avoiding traffic chaos everywhere.
