Rather than sacking Nigel Adkins

well looking at the current depth of our squad and the inability to bring in players I wouldn't sack any players. Despite our current form being absolutely sh!te we can't afford to go around cancelling contracts. If you mean selling players in January then I'd definitely let Fox go and bring in a new LB and even though I'm not a Guly hater I'd probably sell him as he's never going to be popular with the fans and I believe he said he wanted to return to Brazil anyway

I'd keep Clyne as first choice RB personally

Yoshida has looked ok at CB as well. Although Clyne's wing aerially has been a source of goals - Van Persie, Jelavic and Bale spring to mind.

i honestly think our problem is our system (we defend too narrow and invite teams on to us) and a weak defensive left back.

Lallana? Yes he'd be on my list of under performing players who aren't Premier quality. (Right or left side).

Despite him being joint top English player in the assist tables this season/joint 3rd overall as well as having most assists for us? Right. I'd say despite not being at his best he's still one of our best players

Players need time FFS most of these players have managed back to back promotions last season...where is the loyalty?. We need to give them at least 10 games and I'd give them until christmas before making changes. Also before anyone suggests getting rid of a player they need to have sensible suggestion for a replacement lined up.......

It's not even the players fault there are people telling them how, and where, to play behind the scences like that Crosby guy..........

Ah yes but you didn't ask why I said that....

IF he stays on the left then at PL level he does not have the pace to cut inside as much as he did in the nPc. PL defenders have worked him out. As such he slows down our attacks down the left and Fox who has made a run from deep ends up looking a tosser.

However on the RIGHT and through the centre he has made goals and looks the part.

AL is a great player BUT at the moment he has to sort this issue out

SDR, Jos, Fox, Guly, Chaplow, Butterfield, Puncheon (if he keeps fannying about and doesn't track back and tackle/take up the correct positions), Davies, Lee, Seabourne, Lallana if he keeps slowing things down and/or can't pass right and doesn't track back, SRL if he doesn't perform (heresy, but thar ya go),. At least 10, anyway. Barnard, Hammond, Forte and Sharp too (even though they're on loan).

Let's face it, most of them didn't get long-term contracts last season because the club thought they were PL quality (unless people at the club really don't have a clue) so it's plain they were hedging their bets in case we didn't go up.

Yeah, but he is pretty good. Puts in some quality challenges and generally reads the game well.

Awful at Arsenal, very average at Everton, abysmal against Fulham and his first half against Spurs was pretty terrible as well. Him and Fonte both improved second half when we played higher up the pitch, but if he wasn't a summer signing people wouldn't be so lenient with him.

I've seen very little to suggest he's better than Fonte, and considering we needed centre halves substantially better than what we had, i think at the moment he looks a pretty poor signing. Hopefully he will significantly improve as the season progresses.

I find it odd that just a few days before he signed, NA was asked about him and he said quite defiantly that we wouldn't be signing him. His signing stinks of a last minute panic buy having failed to acquire our preferred targets.

Well done Les

Yeah and Lambert hasn't scored for 2 games, get him out too

Yes I know it's your humour......and actually its 3 games......and a sub appearnace, but that's no reason to sack him - is it ? He'll come again.

10 years ago James Beattie went 9 games before scoring his first .but ended up with 23 goals and was the leading Englsih-born scorer in the Prem. (Thierry Henry won the Golden Boot).

I'm sure you can sack them. Gross misconduct for example.

What like Seaborne you mean, did we "sack" him, did we flip. Otherwise highly likely but you can't sack them for being overpaid or useless, same as the civil service really. If we could sack Dickson I'm sure we'd have done that by now but as long as he keeps his nose clean and turns up for training where and when required there's nothing you can do about it. Under normal circumstance if you want to get rid of a player before the expiration of his contract and you can't sell him you just have to bite the bullet and pay him all he is owed under the terms of his contract.

There do seem to be a number a large number players with contracts who are not good enough for the PL

So I dont think the club expected to be in the PL so quickly

I expect the club expected to be able to move them on more easily. Trouble is we are said to be right bastards on loan deals,

Dickson expressed himself on this last summer. He ain't going to play and we ain't going to let him walk free or subsidise his pay at Brentford or Yeovil wherever it was. Thus he's resigned to watching the game from the stands for a season and going through the motions in training, no doubt with the development group. Don't think he even plays in their matches either.

NB it was Crawley Town, he could have gone there but as he would have had to take a pay-cut he wanted Saints to pay up some of the last year of his contract. Apparently Saints refused and now he's in limbo.
