pingwing Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 Only interesting bit 'But we gave the players who have not been in the team to the chance to show what they could do, and they did not take it.' Should have run the headline 'Saints don't have 2 teams worth of premier league players kicking about the club and Shearer doesn't like Lauro/Hansen any more and wants a real job'
The Kraken Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 "It has been mooted that former Saints striker Alan Shearer would be a high-profile candidate to succeed Adkins." Yep, that sounds reliable enough to me. Welcome on board Alan...
Dr Who? Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 Would not be any better IMO! Also we still have manager, who will be given a little longer, or should be anyway!

Wes Tender Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 It has been mooted that former Saints striker Alan Shearer would be a high-profile candidate to succeed Adkins Mooted by whom? Yes, he has a high profile as an ex-player of some merit and as a media pundit, but what is his management record in British football? Zero experience, but sure to walk into the role because of his high profile, eh? Does the person who mooted this have a high profile with insider information at the club, or was it the journo's mate's opinion down at the pub that Shearer was a suitable candidate? ecuk268 Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 He seemed up for Blackburn. But they picked an ex-player who actually seems like he might be a decent manager too in Henning Berg. Who has come up with the brilliant suggestion that if a team goes 4-0 down, they should be able to bring on a 12th player.

gjphilsaint Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 Yes thats right we are in a pickle and we are going to sack a football MANAGER and replace him with someone who HAS NEVER BEEN a football manager! Its the Kevin Keegan factor all over again. No, no, no, please keep our existing football MANAGER. In Nigel I 100% trust.

Yes he was also warning everyone about how hard the prem will be and how people won't handle losing lots of games and will soon be demanding Adkins head.... He is this years biggest SWF bottler. Thedelldays Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 yes I was...and I honestly believe we could be doing a great deal better with a manager who has an idea..... not bottling it...seeing west ham, who we were better show us how not that difficult it is to grind out results.. far worse teams than us with far worse manager have come up and survived in the prem.. I am quite shocked at the approach to this season by the club..and more so, the manager

LostBoys Posted 1 November, 2012 Share Posted 1 November, 2012 You are having a laugh. I think Nigel may be gone next week with another poor performance at West Brom but the Chairman will have someone more high profile with experience lined up I have ignored the school playground comments on this thread - it is difficult to read them as most of the t**ts are already on ignore. Get a life and post something sensible if this is possible.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 November, 2012 Share Posted 1 November, 2012 Must be me Turkish, I'd ignore me. I'm sorry lost boy, when I read that we were going to replace one of the best, most successful managers we have ever had with a 2nd rate comentator, I thought this was the muppet show and we were mocking Blackburn. I was commenting that if Cortese sacks Nigel (which I don't support but Cortese has not asked my opinion) I do not think it would be someone with no experience except a lot of mouth. I was not comparing our current Chairman with the deluded idiots at Blackburn and the high risk strategy they have just decided with an unproven Chumpionship manager either. I seem to remember a previous SFC Chairman tried that. With regard to the banter on the forum sometimes it is funny and I have no problem if someone does not like anything I post and takes the p**s but every thread at the moment seems to carry the same stupid comments by the same bunch of t**ts and so I put them on ignore. My prerogative and it makes for a lot less wasted time.

Of course he will be. Reed will want to preserve his position so wont want an experienced man to come in. As well as the fact that no respectable manager will take orders from that clown.
