Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 As the last thread was closed (not exactly sure why), I wanted to know whether people still believe whether tactical mistakes by Adkins are costing us games? For me his time is up. His constant weird lineups, substitutions and formations are killing us. Out of his depth tactically I am afraid.

Smirking_Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I find it hard as he has done so much right and really is a decent chap. But He made silly mistakes in the champ if I remember rightly and just doesnt seem to have a grip on whats goong wrong. I think we need a change in manager now, and I am usually so positive. Its not just the losing points but seems to be the way we are losing. And it seems to be getting worse.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Author Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Nicola, you need to make the decision to sack Adkins, and do it now. If you don't act decisively and in a timely manner I can see you being blamed for this appalling start to the Season. Appoint a proper Premier League Manager, even if it is old saggy chops, and do it now.

Almost looks like he's waiting to be out out of his misery. It really didnt help with the start of the season, and how the results were stolen from us at times. This added to trying to patch up a defence and failing and GK. Also added to his insistance of playing 433 and playing players out of position. Maybe thats not all his decision but to say he wasnt involved in that decision is rediculous. Unfortunately the blame rests with him, I think he will be a top manager in the future but not yet. He just looks lost, similar unfortunately to when Sturrock was here in the prem as if he has used up his ideas.

I love NA, I think he's been terrific for us and can't thank him enough for getting us back where we are. But I want to stay here. I want a club that's as competitive as it came be at this level, and if we need to change our manager to achieve it, then so be it. As it stands Nigel is showing that he's not quite at hte level tactically against PL managers, he's made a few clangers, and has tried to change things in the summer which didn't really need to be changed. I want him to go out whilst it's not such a bad situation, rather than seeing him go out being heckled by fans. Which is what will happen if we continue to lose. S-Clarke Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 We're out of the league cup. Who cares. Cup runs can be a fun distraction but we have to focus on the league. But that's ignoring the main issue here. Its' another game with a big fat red L against it. Another loss Another 3 goals. Another failure to win away from home. The league is important, but it's not like we now go back to a strong position in the league. All the problems we demonstrated tonight, are the problems we've demonstrated in the PL as well. I don't know what's gone wrong, but something has. It's not easy to ignore it anymore.

syd_barrett_saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 sigh..its really not is it Well, it is. But we could go on like that all night. Let's just say our second string lost in a competition far less important than the Premier League. Meanwhile a far stronger Reading selection is tiring themselves out in extra time against Arsenal, and getting demoralised in the process. I know which I'd prefer. Adkins tactics have been bermusing the last few weeks. He's completely lost confidence in his team and himself. Very questionable subs and to not start RL against lump it West Ham was a joke. We can't win for love not money at the moment and don't play until Monday, we should of played most of our first team players tonight and got a decent victory for team morale alone not progression in the cup.
