monosaint Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Not about football but thought a few may find this one amusing..

Kingsland Red Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 The man is a legend, one of my heroes and just as mad in person as on stage / TV. What are we going to do now; what are we going to do now; etc.
yamms_schmitz Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 This has been on the forum fairly recently. Shame that he lacks reasons why he hates Portsmouth. I could name 20.
scotty Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Thats funny. Spike Milligan was always good value, the tuesday comedy slot on R4 extra is a real bonus nowadays.
Miltonaggro Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Well done the OP. the thousands of French Restaurants made me crack up too...
miserableoldgit Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Went to have a look at the great mans grave earlier this year. Very sad but it is currently unmarked. Due to a family dispute, the headstone has been removed and there is nothing but a Spike-sized oblong of earth. Hope that his headstone is back soon.
Wurzel Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Thought I was being taken to see him at The Mayflower last week. Turned out to be Sarah Millican. Good, but not what I was expecting
Lets B Avenue Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Has Rudi signed yet? Yes he has. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20096091
Toomer Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Lasting memory of Spike was when he was being presented with a comedy award and a letter was read out from Prince Charles as quick as a flash came out the comment groveling little bastard.
VectisSaint Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 Thought I was being taken to see him at The Mayflower last week. Turned out to be Sarah Millican. Good, but not what I was expecting Spike was good but even if he would struggle to entertain these days, dead comedians are not usually very funny.

Are they still arguing over whether his epithet "I told you I was ill" could be engraved? I thought they had settled the matter by engraving it in Irish. dronskisaint Posted 30 October, 2012 Posted 30 October, 2012 I'm a huge fan of Milligan...I saw a grave in Alabama with the 'I told you I was ill' legend and it was credited to Spike Milligna..the well known typing error....fans in far flung places :-)
