Went to have a look at the great mans grave earlier this year. Very sad but it is currently unmarked. Due to a family dispute, the headstone has been removed and there is nothing but a Spike-sized oblong of earth. Hope that his headstone is back soon.

Lasting memory of Spike was when he was being presented with a comedy award and a letter was read out from Prince Charles as quick as a flash came out the comment groveling little bastard.

Spike was good but even if he would struggle to entertain these days, dead comedians are not usually very funny.

Is that right? Are they still arguing over whether his epithet "I told you I was ill" could be engraved? I thought they had settled the matter by engraving it in Irish.

No, sadly the headstone has been in place, (if fact the church sells postcards of it), but there is some family dispute corncerning ex wives that has caused it to be temporarily (I hope) removed.

I'm a huge fan of Milligan...I saw a grave in Alabama with the 'I told you I was ill' legend and it was credited to Spike Milligna..the well known typing error....fans in far flung places :-)
