In the car on the way down Norwich was the deciding game at the end of the month.

A couple of performances like the second half today (across 90 mins though) then the bar is set on Reading at home, loose that and he's gone though.

Don't see how abandoning Adkins right now will help things, especially getting a 4-4-2 hoof merchant to "save" the club will leave us looking like Villa (who should be in the champ next year)

How long will NC give him? Personally I'll be amazed if he is here this time next week.

Not saying I want NA out, quite the opposite actually, but just can't see Cortese putting up with getting beat every week too much longer.

sooner the better

Drunk, or driving and posting at the same time?

Can anyone translate?

The thing is nobody knows just what NC is really like.Is he really the ruthless man everyone seems to think or is he more calm and more tolerant than

People give him credit for.Guess we'll find out soon, personally i sadly think NA will be gone soon, its a shame because he deserves to succeed.

Wasn't driving this week. On the way down thought he as another 4-5 games with how its looking, on the way back he should be safe till december (Reading and Norwich at home are the must wins that define his position)

No one can think of a replacement beyond crooked 'Arry and the fat Spanish waiter.

Stick with him there are still worse teams than us in this league. I would take so much pleasure if we see out this storm and in 10 Yeats time Adkins is still in charge and we are a force in the premiership.

Did we not have a '5 year plan'?

If so then NA has exceeded that by getting into the PL a year early, ergo he should be allowed at least a full season, and were we relegated there is an arguement that he should be allowed to get us promoted the following season.

More importantly were not relegated, were not close to being relegated and have all to play for, so why adopt a knee jerk reaction and start the old managerial merry go round?

I think Adkins deserves to succeed just not at this club,I think his time at the club has run its course and we need a fresh approach, his positive clap trap is starting to get on my tits if I'm honest because its not working.

Time to go,time to start afresh with a new manager, some might think its harsh because of what he's achieved but you can't survive by living on past glories.

And we haven't played any of them yet - 6 of the top 7 though

Seriously, how many more are going to come out with this rubbish?

We did not get promoted a year early. Cortese expected us to be promoted last season. Not "hoped", expected.

Yes - but doesn't Cortese and his team of scouts and player purchasing board not share equal responsibility for where we are?

Oh good. Yet another thread saying exactly the same as several others; another poster who lacks the imagination to realise that his post could easily have been added to one of those other threads. The conclusion must be that he has a desperate desire to draw attention to himself.

Just on the radio. Talking about Adkins and say he seems unable to take to the prem. no where near street wise enough and appears not to be learning

Saying he will take us down and be remembered like boothroyd and Iain dowieI kid you not

Radio Skate??!!

1 - It's October

2- We're not way adrift

3- We should have learned what happens when we go the multi-manager route

4- NA appears to have the dressing room support...how badly would it affect morale if the 'together as one' ethos that has brought us through successive promotions is disrupted?

5-We are not playing badly...still adjusting in my opinion to new players, new pace of game - we're not alone in that but we're better than most others in this position.

Not shooting the messenger - just pointing out that it's about opinions and knee jerk responses rarely being the right ones. I think a specialist defensive coach could be a good addition - to talk replacement at this stage of settling in to the new league would be plain daft.

3- We should have learned what happens when we go the multi-manager route

Between 1994 and 2004 we essentially went through a manager a year, yet still sustained top flight status, often with very healthy mid table finishes.

This forum is going to implode if we do stick with Nige and still go down.

...but...but..but...this cannot be....we stuck by him...he should have turned into Alex Ferguson.....

although, of course, the Lawrie Mac story will get wheeled out....

Yep, the whole discussion is laughable. No point with sticking with a manager for "stability" reasons if he aint up to the job...

On the other hand the last time our chairman sacked a manager it worked out very well...so based on his own experince he might not feel it's such a bad move....

The latest stat to use to justify our awful form. They're all up there because they've played us!

We are not playing sufficiently well, true, but to suggest that Man C, Arsenal, Man U et al are only where they are because they beat us is laughable at best. Presumably they didn't require any further points to reach such lofty positions?

Either that or there's a level of sarcasm to your post which is lost in cyberspace.

Not like you to be pathetically wrong. Oh, actually, it is.

CB Fry: Who cares about the forty thousandth retread of the Alex Ferguson routine? It's been wheeled out on webforums for every single manager we've ever had.

Forty thousand times that SAF has been cited as an example and even then it hadn't penetrated your skull that he had what for him was a rather crap third season coming 11th and that the fans were calling for him to be dismissed.

But not like you to be pathetically wrong, eh?

Our problem was never sacking managers, it was who we were appointing.

Sometimes a manager may even be a good one but you have to sack them just to get the 'new manager bounce' needed to stay up. Fresh ideas and all that.

I'd stick with Adkins for the moment though, hopefully Mayuka from the start in the next game might make the difference

What are you talking about now?

Oh yes, the usual Wes Tender trick of making stuff up.

I am completely aware of the Alex Ferguson story, better than most on here. Where have I ever said he didn't struggle during his time there? Do tell.

Wes Tender. Pathetically wrong, as ever, as always.

How many times have people said "I can't see Nigel lasting beyond x game" so far this season?

And all this Alex Ferguson comparison talk in boring as hell. He doesn't even need to be as a good as Ferguson but he is better than a lot of the clowns people on here are claiming he is no better than.

I think in the Dons head, NA has already gone. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat reading and then he gets sacked. Once NC has made his mind up thats it IMO and I think he probably has. Whether he goes tomorrow, next week or next month is another matter.

Based on what?
