Fitzhugh Fella Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Great to see Matt sitting among us "plebs" today, just one of the fans. Felt a bit sorry for him that he got constantly mobbed by people asking for photos etc, would have been nice if they treated him normally for at least the duration of the game but I guess it is not every day a legend becomes mortal. Maybe NC will join us next week?
RonManager Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 'Matt, Sitting in the Northamn, In Autumn.' Anon.
S-Clarke Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Yeah, was excellent to see. Surprised he wasn't blocked from entering
ant Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Maybe NC will join us next week? Wouldn't be the first time, to be fair. Assumed Le God was amongst us from the pre-match chants.
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Saw him in the concourse after the game getting mobbed. Seemed a bit embarrassed and pleased at the same time.
St.Jeweller Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 could of done with a bit of his old late magic in the last few minuets today!!
Tractor_Saint Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 He's got a Season Ticket there! @mattletiss7 The view from my season ticket seat pic.twitter.com/CNWHx7Ln
jimmysaint7 Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Dont wanna split hairs but it's the kingsland!
manji Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Just a bit of fan pandering for the gullible. Didnt the legendary Mike "Scouse" Wilde try the same ?
sambosa75 Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Love the bloke but can't help thinking with his media contacts and income at Sky, he could get access to a box/corporate seat any time he liked if he didn't have an agenda over Cortese to highlight.
Roger Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Just a bit of fan pandering for the gullible. Didnt the legendary Mike "Scouse" Wilde try the same ? You really aren't a saints fan are you. Do Vanish please cretin.

Perhaps NC is not allowing certain people to buy corporate "positions".
HedgeEnder Posted 28 October, 2012 Posted 28 October, 2012 Just a bit of fan pandering for the gullible. Didnt the legendary Mike "Scouse" Wilde try the same ? You really are a sad individual
70's Mike Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Perhaps NC is not allowing certain people to buy corporate "positions". interesting Dunc, i am not sure if Leon or ex saints have boxes this season
oldsarum Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 interesting Dunc' date=' i am not sure if Leon or ex saints have boxes this season[/quote'] I have it on good authority that Cortese wouldn't let the Ex-Saints have a box this season, even though there are several available
rooney Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 I have it on good authority that Cortese wouldn't let the Ex-Saints have a box this season, even though there are several available Probably because they wanted one for nothing whilst the likes of you and I have to pay.
Roger Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Probably because they wanted one for nothing whilst the likes of you and I have to pay. Well as Leon crouch saved the club with his money prob would deserve it any way but there is no way they would want one for nothing. Do ur research ffs.
The Kraken Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Probably because they wanted one for nothing whilst the likes of you and I have to pay. Made up assumptions
oldsarum Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Probably because they wanted one for nothing whilst the likes of you and I have to pay. The EX Saints paid the same as everybody else ever since they've had a box and were prepared to do the same this season
Whitey Grandad Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 So.... are boxes going empty because Cortese is picky about who occupies them?
JRM Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 That is an absolute scandal and i think we should demand answers on this, the ex-saints is a great organisation keeping former players in touch, playing charity game and fundraisers such as Q&A for the Kevin Moore fund, lots of ex-legends who love the club, they do have connections with McMenemy who attends some dos but that shouldn't make any difference, what a scandal and what a petty c*nt Cortese is if this is true. Wouldn't surprise me at all from the several other things i've heard about him.
JRM Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 forgot to say saw Le Tiss coming out of the kingsland, he was very casual and stopping for pics with anyone who asked for one, definitely raised the spirits of fans after the game.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 29 October, 2012 Author Posted 29 October, 2012 So.... are boxes going empty because Cortese is picky about who occupies them? So it seems but I guess he is fully entitled to do that as it is from his pocket (or the Liebherr family's) the revenue is being denied. If Lowe did this then we would all rightfully be up in arms but don't forget the club's finances are not, strictly speaking, our business any more. We forfeited that right when we passed into private ownership. I did point this out at the time but was accused of having an agenda.
Wurzel Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 forgot to say saw Le Tiss coming out of the kingsland, he was very casual and stopping for pics with anyone who asked for one, definitely raised the spirits of fans after the game. Saw him stop for a photo with a young lad outside Kingsland/Chapel corner. Thought it quite ironic he was posing for it right in front of a burger van
Weston Saint Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Matt is a Vice President of Hampshire Cricket so I have to be careful but I have been disappointed with his media comments about Cortese of late. Incidently, David Griffiths, Hampshires First Team fast bowler is now a season ticket holder at Saints in the Itchen
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 29 October, 2012 Author Posted 29 October, 2012 Matt is a Vice President of Hampshire Cricket so I have to be careful but I have been disappointed with his media comments about Cortese of late. Incidently, David Griffiths, Hampshires First Team fast bowler is now a season ticket holder at Saints in the Itchen I think Matt pulls no punches, don't think he is bothered what people think. He does not like NC and will continue to say it as he sees it. He has no obligation to be "diplomatic". I have no problem with that either. Sorry Ron, not looking to be confrontational but I fail to see why fans don't like Matt being honest in his opinions. Should there be some rule that no one should be allowed to criticise SFC, should they have good reason?
Turkish Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 So.... are boxes going empty because Cortese is picky about who occupies them? No it's because they are over priced, poor value for money, crap quality of product and most local businessmen think Cortese is a w* nker.
aintforever Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 I was also told by my source that some people were told they were not allowed to buy a box. The club are entitled to sell boxes to whoever they want, they don't need the money. But it seems a bit odd when they do things like sack loyal programme sellers (apparently) just to save a few quid.

Given that we've apparently taken out a loan to sort out our cashflow; I'd suggest they do.
Saint Craig Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Talking of legends sitting amongst fans, we had Jim Steele sat in front of us in Itchen block 4 for the first half 'til he disappeared down to the concourse around the 40 minute mark. Had a handful of classic stories and great banter.

Turkish Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 And Iwan Thomas was sat in the corner of Kingsland down the front of block 42ish Good effort considering he did the GSR in the morning.
JRM Posted 29 October, 2012 Posted 29 October, 2012 Good effort considering he did the GSR in the morning. He was drinking in the cricketers later in the evening.
