dubai_phil Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 OK my input from the Chapel end. He got stick he responded. He did "throw" the bottle and it DID hit someone - There was a steward outside the Chapel before the game with an utterly nutcase Afro style hair. Boruc shaped to throw the bottle "hard and deliberately" and in a manner that appeared to be "threatening" he then simply "grinned" and underhand lobbed it. It hit the Afro hair. To be honest it was travelling SO NOT hard and fast that the Afro Hair man (who had his back to Boruc) wafted his hand as if chasing away a Bee or a Wasp. It was out of order on all sides, BUT The Chapel had been horrified by his slow advance and using knees when he could have picked the ball up early on, and were howling at him for being totally UN committed when he came out to face Defoe before their second goal. Up close he just looked Calamity James Think is. NC will be angry - It doesn't look good for the Brand Image of Sexy Programme Sellers Expect his ass to be kicked really hard

Saint Garrett Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I don't think Boruc is a 'dud' as such. He wouldn't have had the career he has had if he was, but he has always been known as a bit of a loose cannon.
sydenhamssocks Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Boruc is a top keeper and will save us more points than he gives away. so far he's doing no worse than the other two and his experience will tell. Fitzhugh Fella Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I was at West Ham and would not blame Boruc for any of the goals - he made one poor kicked clearance but, other than that was steady. Again I was at the match on Sunday and felt both goals were not particularly his fault. I simply cannot believe that fans can give a player stick on their home debut. Everybody deserves at least a game or two to settle and let's be honest he hardly has the best defence in the Premiership in front of him. No he should not have reacted the way he did, but thanks to some idiots in the Chapel, we now have a bit of a problem, goalkeeping wise. Davis is not good enough, Gazzaniga will be hacked off and not exactly confident and now we have our third gk the subject of an internal investigation which is hardly going to make him committed to the cause, especially after being heckled by fans. Sometimes the fans are our own worse enemies. Mind you the club has hardly covered itself in roses here. Had we bought an experienced gk in the summer we would not have to thrown in an unfit one who clearly was signed in a bit of a hurry. Simon Carter, the Echo sports editor described our summer transfer policy as "deeply flawed" and I am starting to see where he is coming from. Boruc deffo should have had the first at WH. No doubts. He is a big fella and that was his ball all day long. I suggest you watch it again and watch the flight of ball. It's not like it was pelted in to box. The edge of the 6yard box is where he should have claimed it, even if it meant taking out half the teams by doing it. WH would have **** themselves if he had clattered them.
Weston Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Whilst one should never condone the alleged actions of the player it is a real shame some of our supporters are alleged to have abused him. He was signed because the club felt they needed an experienced keeper. They did not play him straight away but Adkins made it quite clear in interview that he wanted his experience for West Ham away and has clearly made the decision to continue with him against Tottenham. I assume he did not want a young, inexperienced but talented young keeper to lose confidence behind a defence unable to cope collectively with Premiership football. I also assume he had Davis on the bench because he felt it unfair to just dump him after he has served us so well. He has his weaknesses at the near post and his command in the box and distribution thinking time slow but he was a good stopper and kicker and does not deserve to be just discarded. He is a good back up keeper. As for the rumour of Gazzaniga going on loan to Bristol City, if I am right in my above assumption, why would the club let him go on loan to one in the bottom 3 of the Championship and themselves short of confidence? It just does not make sense. So unfounded rumour for me.
Saint86 Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I blame fox for both tbh. aways down the left........... have you seen his tracking back for the first. A liesurely strole whilst lennon (or defoe) attacks our CB. - He is walking back, 30m away when the cross goes in - total fecking joke... However this is off topic. I don't blame Boruc for any goals so far. Hadn't played since may so is bound to be rusty. I would also like to see the fans who abused him getting a ban for 2months. Plyer abused on his home debut. Wouldn't surpise me if it was anti polish bs as well. Have heard that a few times in chapel over the years.
The9 Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Reckon the club have realised they have bought a dud in Boruc and are seizing the opportunity to cancel his contract due to gross misconduct. That would certainly explain picking him for Sunday's match. Boruc did nothing remotely resembling a significant mistake on the pitch on Sunday. Even if he's not involved tonight, so what ? We've picked our then-second choice keeper for both League Cup matches so far anyway.

Chez Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Slightly different but, first caller on 6-0-6 on Sunday as a Chelsea fan crying about Hernandez doing the cupped hand to ear gesture. Fans are pathetic these days. They give **** out but even the remotest sign of a reaction and they cry like babies. Back on subject, I'm not sure why fans gave him stick (I think abuse is an over-exageration much like his reaction). He was certainly slow off his line in my eyes, but there were so many other faults (persons to blame) leading up to that goal.

Suomi Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I like the look of Boruc - he has real presence. Gazza is better on distribution, and when he bulks out a bit he will be a very good goalkeeper. He's not ready yet, though. Some fans were watching a different game to me on Sunday. Boruc had zero chance with the first and actually put Defoe off for the second, to such an extent that he scuffed his shot. It was the panic-stricken terror of Fonte that gave the goal away - he could easily have cleared it. Mind you, it's probably the same fans who booed Guly that are now moaning - that was utterly disgraceful.

saintedwill Posted 31 October, 2012 Share Posted 31 October, 2012 Here's an idea which could solve things... If a certain section of our fans actually stopped whinging and manned up a bit then this complete non-story would be exactly that. So he threw a plastic water bottle gently towards the crowd. There are conflicting reports as to whether it hit someone or not - so what if it did? Sometimes I wonder if the increased amount of diving/excessive reactions to physicality/rolling around for nothing has crept over the advertising hoardings and into the crowd and we now have stands full of Suarez, Bale and Klinsman wannabes in attitude alone
