Leeds 3 Saints 0

Yes, less worry about a slight risk of getting an injury when we cannot play together as a team and cannot stop making stupid mistakes week-in, week-out. Sod the chance of a practice match to iron out a few things.

I wonder why it is that considering things are always black and white with you (admittedly mostly black), your existence seems so grey to me?

Yeah, why bother resting our best players eh? lts get em out there and get em injured........you clueless fat moron.

They're doing a great f**king job in the prem, injured or not aren't they?! Who wouldn't want a decent cup run to scrape moral off the floor at the moment?

That's because we're not. Crisis is what we were in 3 years ago. An expected poor start to our return to the top flight is not.

Yep, I am going to persistently turn a blind eye to sh*te performances, clueless managers, crap transfer activity, etc for the rest of my life, just because we went into admin during the Spring of 2009....

Chickens coming home to roost but the happy clappy brigade will ignore it all as per usual or mutter some inane nonsense about "remember where we were 3 seasons ago blah, blah, blah. Ahead of schedule, blah, blah, blah."

they really cannot see that adkins has done no more than Paul Jewell, Phil Brown, Mick McCarthy etc..who are all deemed no where near as good as nige but all have kept teams up in the prem and all have not got a goals against record

this is so similar to the season we went down in 2005.....it really is.

shyte defence, great attackers, dire in the league, letting in goals left right and centre and getting done in at a lower league team in the cup

To be far this was saints for most of the time I have supported them, not just 2005!

Slating the critics is getting really thin and tiresome.

If you REALLY cant tell the club is in crisis, I feel sorry for you.

'Crisis'. Oh get over yourself you bed wetting tart. 'Crisis' was a few years back when we were bankrupt. 'Crisis' is what the skates are currently going through. We're having a bad run of results - nothing more, nothing less. You need to get a grip of yourself

Just think whst the morale would be if we played the first team and they lost........

Some people are utterly beyond help.

For all the usual happy-clappy suspects, WHY are we playing a "reserve" side, when to be perfectly frank the first XI need all the practice, all the help, all the confidence-building, all the opportunity to practice the system expected of them and all the opportunity get used to playing alongside each other that they can get.

I really dont get the club strategy, phillosophy and direction at the moment. For me the club resembles a headless chicken or a ship with no-one at the helm. :(

I almost agree but think the club resembles a ship with a headless chicken at the helm. Oh and the ship has big holes in it like our defence.

Not saying you should. But claiming we're a club in crisis, typical hyperbole horse **** from you.

Those crying about us losing tonight listen to SB

You make me sick. I'd tactically lose tonight, and I'd rather focus on staying in the premiership. Confidence increases if we win? Maybe but only to the reserve players that are playing. GIVE A ****?

No.

Rant overs.

I struggle to see how any of you enjoy football. Even when we win there is whinging about going behind or a poor performance. Heck, when we were closing in on the title last year, people still doom and gloom saying we'd lose out or when we went up we'd lose every week. Just enjoy the sodding game, you can't influence it either way, just enjoy the entertainment.

Lee just got a proper pasting from Craig Burley on 5LX.

Probably just anti-Saints agenda, though.

He's a hero to some on here, a proper premier league player who is going to have a massive impact. Despite most only having seen him about 3 times.

Cannot win, if we played the first team and we picked up a few injuries the same posters, would be saying why put out our first team in a nothing game! The same people that are wetting themselves because we are 1 down to Leeds. Can look for the negative in any situation.

I travel up & down the country following Saints at great expense. Tonight because of work i have not gone. Even in pre-season you could see the new formaton was not working. Adkins used to go on about being flexible. We are completely inflexible. This formation is killing us & we are pretty **** - first team, reserves etc. Leeds 8 shots 1 on target - Saints NO Shots........that is disgraceful!!!!

I'm not convinced that our formation isn't working because it has worked well against some decent sides. Individual errors have been killing us consistently. Having said that I fully respect your view because I know you travel to a lot of games.

But that wasn't what I was talking about. I was talking about the pathetic whining on here when we're fielding players who don't normally play in a cup game that doesn't really matter much. Sure, I expected more or else I wouldn't have bothered tuning in, but it's sickening to read the same crap again and again and again from the same people. We're clearly in for a very tough season, which many foresaw before it even started, but this junk week-in-week out is not "support". It just makes tough times all the more difficult to handle.

I'm not fussed either.

But we've been so bad today, we haven't even had a shot on goal. That is not something to dismiss.

You really are a phukwit Alpine, the capital one cup is a low priority competition when the premier league is clearly (to anyone with half a brain) the main effort. The first 11 play week in week out, in what is a very steep learning curve, they also train daily, so the opportunity to rest our best side is an opportunity not to be missed. Jesus, you would be the first on here to cry like an overweight baby when our best players get injured/suspended in a 'nothing' game. Try and stop getting so hysterical, its not like you have to ever wtch a game now is it ?

Poor strategy in my opinion. Any sort of win would do wonders for confidence but another loss will just confirm the losing habit. Our players get injured at Staplewood, the possibility of injury goes with the territory.

Adkins will not be sacked as it seems apparent that NC wants "yes" man

The Carling cup is a inconvenience cup for a majority of prem teams

Elland rd is notoriously difficult to get a result from

We are playing a saints team that are fringe players, some of them even struggled to get in our championship team

I don't know what people expect from this game? I am a realist,I never expected us to get anything from it,Leeds know we are a club that are there for the taking

Alps might have a bit of a point I suppose. Playing Leeds might actually be safer than training as you're guaranteed to be playing on the same side as Guly.
