John B Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 (edited) Removed by Moderator I think you should get back on the medication mate and calm down For a team like Southampton success can only be achieved in cup competetions rememember the JPT but for some reason the shambolic people running the club for a moment disagree. dronskisaint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 For all the usual happy-clappy suspects, WHY are we playing a "reserve" side, when to be perfectly frank the first XI need all the practice, all the help, all the confidence-building, all the opportunity to practice the system expected of them and all the opportunity get used to playing alongside each other that they can get. I really dont get the club strategy, phillosophy and direction at the moment. For me the club resembles a headless chicken or a ship with no-one at the helm. Every so often you elicit a reply from me with your tedious negativity...why do you purport to support Saints - you surely cannot get any pleasure from the experience and your bleating just detracts from the quality of so many threads...to borrow your word - WHY? And - because it's a match thead - good to see Lloyd Isgrove come on, he has looked a good prospect when I've seem him in the development squad. Good to see the squad being used and the youngsters being blooded. Still think we'll win this, a goal will boost their confidence to go on and win. Thedelldays Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Cannot win, if we played the first team and we picked up a few injuries the same posters, would be saying why put out our first team in a nothing game! The same people that are wetting themselves because we are 1 down to Leeds. Can look for the negative in any situation. its not about that..its the utter shytness of our club...so easy to beat, every game....last game we went for the eintire first half without causing trouble...today, we are not causing trouble.....we seem to be unable to cause trouble other than 30 min periods or so.......something is dire at our club..the set up we employ is not working......adkins seem to not want to change our gung ho approach...i mean, playing mayuka up front on his own and lobbing the ball to him.. mayuka was brilliant when he came on for punch the other day..so what do we do, put him in another one.... it also shows that both lambert and rodriguez will probably start against WBA...which again really does not work

Ade Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 they wouldn't lose. I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. Leeds beat a full strength Everton. This match is 2 days after an afternoon match, Leeds are fresher as they played Friday, who knows what the result would be. I would not be surprised if the first team struggled and got beat, and then what? At least with Nige playing the kids he has an excuse for losing. If he played the first team and they did lose, Nige would be out. Maybe that's why he's playing this team?
alpine_saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Alps might have a bit of a point I suppose. Playing Leeds might actually be safer than training as you're guaranteed to be playing on the same side as Guly.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I struggle to see how any of you enjoy football. Even when we win there is whinging about going behind or a poor performance. Heck, when we were closing in on the title last year, people still doom and gloom saying we'd lose out or when we went up we'd lose every week. Just enjoy the sodding game, you can't influence it either way, just enjoy the entertainment. How can you say that, we don't ****ing win!?
Saint Billy Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Not even a shot on goal. This is a shocking performance, forget the league form or who is in the team. This is really, really bad. egg Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Again, I highly doubt that posters are upset due to this result in isolation. pingwing Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 Why has everyone gone into utter meltdown over a pointless cup?? I miss the days when this was the Worthington Cup just so everyone remembered how worthless it is. Liverpool proved it when they spent 75m to win a grand pot of 500k, its a waste of time and Adkins knows it by starting SEABORNE. Now everyone calm down and remember the important game is Monday. Rebel Posted 30 October, 2012 Share Posted 30 October, 2012 I think it's fairly obvious we put a team out to lose tonight so that we can concentrate on Premier League survival. The big problem with that is we need a win - from wherever we can get it - and a team that is used to playing together and to a system. Momentum and that winning feeling got us promoted last season. That losing habit will get us relegated this season. Reading have got the right idea - playing their first team against Arsenal and going 4-0 up. Think how a win tonight could turn their season around. Mind you the way we are playing our first team would struggle against Leeds at Elland Road.
