SB Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Lose, and Adkins is out, pretty gospel knowledge if nothing else wishful thinking.
pingwing Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Odd seeing as though he's actually been pretty good everytime he's played this season. Apparently bringing him on in the last 10 mins of the spurs game because Davis looked shattered and him being a part of that last chance is cause to consider him the single worst player of all time. Ignoring the fact he put a good shift in away at West Ham and was a part of the last 10 mins against spurs when it was all us. Also apparently he has killed more babies than Puncheon so therefore is still the worse player, ignoring performances across the entire season....
Saint Fan CaM Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Lose, and Adkins is out, pretty gospel knowledge if nothing else wishful thinking. Eh - what do you mean by this? Are you trying to subtely suggest that you know Adkins is going to be sacked if we lose at WBA? Source?

It's embarrassing how some of our players are treated by the fans. Guly has been a good servant to this club and a major part in us getting double promotions. Ok he may not be good enough for a starting place in the prem week in week out, but he's really not as bad as some make him out to be. Plus we don't have many other players like him who can make something happen.
Thedelldays Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Odd seeing as though he's actually been pretty good everytime he's played this season. what has he done that is good.. how many goals..how many goal chances has he created..how many goal saving tackles yes, he may come on and put some effort in...which should be standard
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Lose, and Adkins is out, pretty gospel knowledge if nothing else wishful thinking. Doesn't make complete sense, must be something wrong with your iphone again. Are you saying that you are in the know and have been told that this is a must win game or he will be sacked? What's the wishful thinking bit about? Is that you wish for him to be sacked or it is possibly just wishful thinking from your source.
Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 what has he done that is good.. how many goals..how many goal chances has he created..how many goal saving tackles yes, he may come on and put some effort in...which should be standard How much has he been on the pitch? How much closing down does he do when he's playing? How much shadowing and defensive work has he put in? How many passes has he made - I'd say he must have a very high % completion rate. From the games I've seen (and I've only missed both Manchester games) he's done pretty well. Feel sorry for the bloke. He did a very good job at West Ham.

Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Does everything need to be judged on goals scored ?! If that was the case then David Mcgoldrick would have been decent.
Thedelldays Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Does everything need to be judged on goals scored ?! If that was the case then David Mcgoldrick would have been decent. goals created...clear chances created...defence splitting passes.........tell me all these good things he has done. please tell me there is more to coming on and putting in a shift..?

Feel sorry for the bloke. He did a very good job at West Ham. It's depressing that doing the job he has been asked to do doesn't account for more. West Ham he was clearly given the COVER FOR MAYA instruction which at times turned him into a left back, did a good job at protecting Maya considering neither are really the players that should be over that side. Same with the City game, he was upfront for 70 mins to hold the ball up and frustrate the defence, not score or do anything more. Did a good job at that as well. Gets silly that he is seen as the boo guy with little fault of his own, especially when there are players who are a lot worse getting regular starts because of a lack of depth in the squad (I will have to repeatedly point the finger at Puncheon who has categorically proven he isnt premier league quality at all and Fox who has been struggling a lot).
Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 goals created...clear chances created...defence splitting passes.........tell me all these good things he has done. please tell me there is more to coming on and putting in a shift..? I just feel that he gets a hard time of it. He is no worse than anyone else and has actually done a good job this season. I'd rather have him RM than Puncheon...

Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 so no....there is not much more than putting in a shift then.....? Yes there is plenty more.
Thedelldays Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Yes there is plenty more. fair enough..I think we should agree to disagree...I have never heckled or boo'd a saint at a game or anywhere...remember the dogs abuse Crouch got...etc just away from it all..I just dont think Guly is that good.....
saintbob40 Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 A novel suggestion but lets try and play the team that got us promoted.......so Kelvin (championship team of the season and the other two are crap), Fox (championship team of the season), Cork in with SRL to start. And bring back Billy Sharp FFS.... NA and/or Cortese have managed to destroy a successful team and the team spirit that goes with it in the space of a couple of months. Perhaps they thought that it was their own work rather than that of the players that got the Saints promoted last year . Looks now like it wasn't......
pingwing Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Lukaku vs Kelvin Davis?!?!?! Wack everything on an 8-0 West Brom result if thats the case...

I've always worked within sport/ football and you get to hear the latest rumours, just the same as when the sun prints a story suggestive we're in for Defoe without a known source. Cortese isn't a stupid guy, saints FC is a business not a hobby.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Team for WBA: -----------------------Boruc--------------------- Clyne---------Fonte-----------Yoshida-------Fox ---------------Morgan-----------Davis--------- Mayuka---------------Ramirez--------------Lallana ---------------------Jay Rod--------------------- Can't really see a better team than that from the current squad.
Stu Man Do Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 did a good job...you tell me, what has he done that is so good...? how many goals did he create at west ham...how many shots on target this season..? Because judging a player is only based on goals scored and assists made. -rolls eye thingy- just admit he has done a decent job, without setting the world alight.

Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 *cough* Lambert *cough* Why? What has Rickie done in the last month to warrant a start over J-Rod?
sandwichsaint Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 (edited) ............. Boruc ............. Clyne Fonte Yoshi Fox ......Morgan ... SD ..... .............. AL ............. ...Mayuka ... RL ......... ...........J Rod ............ We are so weak at the back we might as well do what we're good at and pick a team that stands a chance of getting a 3-3! Personally I would play Gazza but it looks like we are going to stay with Boruc, time for him to put in a decent shift. If fit I would have FR at right back and move Clyne over to the left, Clyne looked v comfortable at LB and FR is a massive upgrade on the hapless Fox. If Ramirez fit he would replace Myuka ... front 3 to be fairly flexible but ideally using RL to link up with AL and the pace of JRod and Myuka. So for me it's no Hoov, no Punch, no AL on the left, not room for JWP. No 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, it's a tweaked 4-3-3 and let's take the game to them! (with the current personnel it's impossible to pick a side that looks like it could keep a clean sheet!) Edited 1 November, 2012 by sandwichsaint
Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 ............. Boruc ............. Clyne Fonte Yoshi Fox Morgan SD AL Mayuka We're going to need more than 9 men...
Rasiak-9- Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Team for WBA: -----------------------Boruc--------------------- Clyne---------Fonte-----------Yoshida-------Fox ---------------Morgan-----------Davis--------- Mayuka---------------Ramirez--------------Lallana ---------------------Jay Rod--------------------- Can't really see a better team than that from the current squad. This but I think I would have to stick with Lambert ahead of Rodriguez. I think Ramirez is a good enough step-up in central midfield to enable 4-4-2 to at least be a possibility (as opposed to how it was against spurs). So bringing Rodriguez on for Davis and going 4-4-2 I think is a genuine option in the later stages if necessary.
fish fingers Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 We're going to need more than 9 men... I like it, the element of surprise.

He needs freedom to do damage in the final third,
Dalek2003 Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 This will be a hard game against a wily WBA. If we lose, let us hope that we at least put in a good shift. I am sure that the message to the players is to 'dig deep'. My prediction: 3-0 defeat I am afraid.

I am sure that the message to the players is to 'dig deep'. My prediction: 3-0 defeat I am afraid. putting in a good shift won't be enough. We'll more than likely go into the game bottom of the table and failure to get points will see us tailed off by at least 3 points. So NA has to look at his walking wounded and calculate if any of the injured players are capable of giving us a hand up even if they're only 80% fit. Half an hour from Ramirez is probably better than 90 minutes from JWP or Guly.

ThreeSixty Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I'd like to see GDP in the hole if Ramirez isn't fit.
trousers Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I'd like to see GDP in the hole if Ramirez isn't fit. I'll give Glasgow Saint 5 minutes to respond to that one....I'm guessing he'll want him in a different kinda hole....
jimbojones10 Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 boruc Clyne yoshida jos/fonte reeves Morgan jwp davis puncheon lallana Lambert I would play hoovield if they are going to play lukaku, which i think they will as jos is much better in the air and thought he had a beeter game then fonte against west ham (carrol). our midfield has always looked more stable and solid when we play jwp in a more defensive role with morgan and davis has more freedom. If ramierez is fit he plays instead of puncheon for me, but i dont think he will be.
Pilchards Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I would love if Adkins said the reason for the WBA defeat was tired legs
bjk Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=9623.0 How different to read another teams forum without any Morons on it.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I would love if Adkins said the reason for the WBA defeat was tired legs A "good week's training" at SFC is probably the equivalent of playing 5 games. Plus we get far more injuries in training.
Bearsy Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 How different to read another teams forum without any Morons on it. True. It's a dull read ain't it?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I can't find any 50 shades of Grey reviews at all and as for learning Japanese, nothing! Boring forum!
SaintSteve Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Why? What has Rickie done in the last month to warrant a start over J-Rod? Oh dear oh dear.. another one who can't see the gaping difference between Lambert and Rodrigues.. he's notfit to ties his boot laces. For a start, lambert goalscoring, ball control vision leaves Rodrigues with a lot to learn.. he may or may not but this was a bad signing for the 1st time back in the Premier.
Neil Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 As long as Guly is not in West Brom on Monday evening, put any youngster on the bench if required, Isgrove? Just not Guly.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 As long as Guly is not in West Brom on Monday evening, put any youngster on the bench if required, Isgrove? Just not Guly. Pathetic.
Sour Mash Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 As long as Guly is not in West Brom on Monday evening, put any youngster on the bench if required, Isgrove? Just not Guly. Ridiculous. We've got a lot more to worry about than whether Guly is in the squad or not.
Turkish Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=9623.0 Reading those comments their fans are very arrogant and disrespectful. Totally ill informed as well. We arent bottom and they said we've used 4 goals keepers when we've only used three. They also think they should have too much for us going forward! How dare they say they should expect to score two or three goals against "that lot. Why would they think when Man U and Man City scored 3 goals each against us that they should expect too? They obviously think they are as good as last seasons top 2! Arrogant, vile fans who are a disgrace to their club.

I can see perfectly well thanks. I don't believe Rickie offers enough as a lone striker, especially away from home.
Wade Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 I can see perfectly well thanks. I don't believe Rickie offers enough as a lone striker, especially away from home. Did you think that before Adkins actually dropped him?
Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 Did you think that before Adkins actually dropped him? The first time he was dropped was the first game we played this system competitively? I questionned the decision at the start, but J-Rod is a good little player. I rate him highly.
Saints Warrior Posted 1 November, 2012 Posted 1 November, 2012 WBA are too strong all round for us, a draw at best. Hope the Borat is not in goal.
