Saint Garrett Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Despite being a striker, J-Rod offers far more defensively than Punch IMO. Also we can change that formation, Could be a midfield 3 of Davis, Morgan and Lallana with J-Rod and Gaston either side of Rickie. Rickie in the whole behind J-Rod with Lallana and Gaston wide. Lambert up top with Gaston playing behind with J-rod and Lallana wide would be my bet though. Lots of fluidity available though.
Dazza82 Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 West Brom team: Foster, Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Yacob, Mulumbu, Odemwingie, Gera, Dorrans, Long. #saintsfc

Suhari Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Mixed feelings. Not sure there is enough pace in that side. Would have preferred Mayuka to J-Rod. That said he is a decent impact player. Time for J-Rod to step up. Potentially a lot of fluidity there though.
Tractor_Saint Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Really excited to see this team tonight. Interesting to see why Boruc has been dropped - was it for that incident? Anyhow, I'm confident with this team and think we'll take it 4-1 but they'll score first

Stu Man Do Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Anyone know why it's taken more than a week to sort out this Boruc stuff? Seems that it could have been dealt with by now but hoping gazza will play a blinder.
bpsaint Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Just seen a Baggie waving a Pompey flag get knocked sparko for his efforts near the ground, made my night anyway. Suprised by lack of Boruc, guess the water bottle incident is being taken pretty seriously.

Turkish Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Think we could be going for **** or bust tonight with RL,JR and GR all starting, sounds like a last chance saloon job for NA. Well it looks like you were right about the first part........
Winchester Red Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Problem is if you start getting defensive with the midfield it'll probably mean we'll stop scoring and it probably won't make the defense any better - but who knows I'll be happy with a 6-5 win

Saint Garrett Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Hope it's not a 442. Even if it means Lambert drops in behind J-Rod it would be better. Playing 442 will cause us big problems in the middle IMO.

Bensfcno1 Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Your ****ing joking me.... drop Boruc cz he had a little spat and threw a plastic bottle in the direction of the fans, which happen to be sat behind the goal he keeps his bottle in. Perhaps the **** heads given him **** for a goal which was not his fault should be banned for coming to St Marys along with the over ****s that seem to enjoy just sitting ther slagging our players off, instead of singing to support the team. I dont blame players for getting ****ed off with fans, we have been terrible for 75% of games at home this season (the fans that is).

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Quality defense of Nigel by Gary Neville there. Do people still think its all his fault and must go? Yes, but, playing devil's advocate, is that not worse in the big picture? It means there's nothing we can do until January, unless our mistake-prone defenders stop making mistakes! saintbob40 Posted 5 November, 2012 Share Posted 5 November, 2012 Smacks of last chance saloon for me-looks far too attacking with our defensive record. Death or glory for Adkins.
