Saints vs Spurs - game thread

Jay Rod has just scored- oh dear!! Clearly not watched Saints this season then. Adkins played him on the wing. He is a striker!!!!

Can play at any tempo they want, This squad are just to weak for this league if you can't see it then clearly your a idiot, keeper is sluggish, fullbacks are useless, and the defence well put it this way might aswell play 8 at the back. Jrod watched every game wtf has he done for us? put him on the bench or loan him out at this level he isn't there yet. Spurs are doing us and credit to them look at the football they are playing, Confident, Pacey and authoritative Saints havent got a clue in comparison. Someone clearly is out of there depth that's not negativity that's reality if something doesn't change soon well the only way is back to the championship. No Ramirez will not save this club let's get realistic we need a new back line and a decent keeper and to build from the back.

Need to hang on to Adkins. This game was always a write off. Cant afford to play like this against the **** teams like West Ham though. Thats when I get ****ed off.

Agreed re NA but:

We seem to trot a similar line out every week though. Even after the Wigan debacle people were saying "shouldn't have underestimated them, " "experienced " "formidable team" etc.

Even W Ham "didn't realistically expect anything "..

What does this leave, a showdown mini-league with QPR,Reading..and who else ?

Norwich. Maybe, maybe, Swansea. Was always going to be this way.

Villa and Norwich IMO. Villa have been torn apart and added to with mediochre players, Norwich's defence is nearly as bad as ours but they have less attacking threat.

QPR are good enough to get out of it, and the January transfer window will make things more interesting. My bottom 3 currently is Reading, Norwich and Us, not in that order. That can change though.

I was looking at the 93-94 season on Wikipedia the other day. (Branfoot's last in charge.) We only won one game at the start of the season for ages, had a decent spell in January/February, and picked a few results up at the end of the season thanks to Alan Ball centering on MLT and the Norwich 5-4 win spurring us on. That sort of scenario can happen again, even if it doesn't seem like that at the moment. We need to ride out this form, do as well as we can, and hope that our time comes this season to have a good spell.

Yes, remember that season well.

A couple of diffferences though that season, Ball was a tremendous motivator, Le Tiss at his imperious prime, and we had several players who cared, and a team spirit.

Branfoot lasted 'til January. Say Adkins does the same, we just need a decent motivator. Someone to get the best out of the players we have. I always preferred being able to sign players all season too. Much more exciting.

Why pick on Alpine - there are plenty of others saying the same thing.

There aren't many (any?) that are just so interminably negative as Alpen, now I remember why I always go to home matches (except today), its to avoid being depressed by our little Austrian bundle of joy.

If there is a change, it will be before January to enable the new manager to select players he wants in that window. That way, we can look forward to the likes of Oliver Barnard, and Callum Davenport all over again. More reason to keep NA - don't think anyone questioned his man management, or motivation over the last two seasons.
