'resignation' in the players' body language is how the radio commentator puts it....

very much so...watching it on the stream...when spurs broke for the their 2nd goal...about 4 players just stood at the other end of the pitch and did not bother chasing the back....they are losing faith IMO...

I am so glad that I didnt drive the 400 miles there & back today. I sit here listening to The Saints Player & working & the 2nd goal goes in..............................Something very very wrong at Saints at the moment.

Sounds like we are playing absolutely poo!!!!!

No pace, no quality, no defence!!

We're continuing to make the same mistakes week after week. The two wide mids fail to track back. The centre mid is powder puff and j rod and lambert are both ineffective with the constant long ball crap played upto them. To me Yoshida is no better than Jos. Gutting that we seem to fail to grasp the need to work as a team this year. If you get out of position work your nuts off to get goal side again don't just gently amble back expecting someone else to cover you. For me I'd take off J Rod and wack on Mayuka and see what he can do. Anyone know why Lee was not included on the bench?

The basic rule of football when you are playing a team which is better than you is to try and keep the ball, thus denying them the chance to score and increasing your chances of creating something. We are by far inferior to the majority of sides in this division and the only way we are going to give ourselves the opportunity of picking up points is to play 4-5-1 with a 'real' defensive midfielder protecting what is a shambles of a defence. We have hardly touched the ball against Spurs and although I never expected to get anything from the game, I did expect us to put up a fight. It is a real sad state of affairs at the moment.

We've gone from being rubbish at the back but at least looking like we could score to just being rubbish all over. Our passing is poor, we seem sluggish, and uninterested. The premiership is painful, wish we could take relegation now and at least win a couple of games down in the Championship. Still can believe we spent 30m in the summer, I'm struggling to see where we've improved.

Why, whats going to magically change ?

The game will be over by then leaving us to dissect actually events rather than bleak predictions. Not looking good but still I see no reason not to hope for a comeback. Otherwise I don't see the point of hanging around for the rest of the game...

Half of that was spent on a player that's not playing today so the contribution of his €15m will be hard to spot :)

We seem to have lost that desire, particularly in our counter attacking, that served us so well in the games against City and United. Puncheon also blows too hot and cold to be relied upon, he's given it away so many times today, and Fox is out of position so often it's ridiculous.

However, whoever booed at half time is a tool.

Hate to say it after criticising Adkins all week for dropping him, but if Lambert was looking to prove something to Adkins after being dropped last week, he isn't showing it today.

Also, Schneiderlin's movement is atrocious. Makes no effort to create any space for himself off the ball so when the ball goes to him he has no option beyond backwards/sideways passes or hopeful hollywood passes.

What we needed to do was keep the fast-flowing attacking football and lose the defensive errors.

We appear to have done the complete reverse, and now - to make it even worse - we're playing without any passion.

That will normally cost any manager his job.

i am not someone who think Adkins should go, i really like the guy, however it does look like the players have stopped playing for him on that first half performance very lacklustre almost a resignation when Bale scored if Adkins cant rejuvenate them then Cortese is going to have to think can someone else

Agreed. I like NA, and hope he can fulfill his potential with us.

But sadly, there does seem an inevitability to a parting of the ways, can't see Cortese not wanting to 'change his hand' and soon. Next alarming thought is who ?

Nigel Adkins half time team talk:

All in it together, together as one

I've seen better footballers sh!t out my bum

If you don't want to be here, to be on my bus

Then lose another football match with minimum fuss

Don't bother tackling or marking them tight

Don't show no energy or passion or fight

Don't pass to puncheon, he'll just lose the ball

Don't pass to J-Rod, fvvck it don't pass at all!
