Wallington Saint Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Hopefully we will have a bumper turnout for this one. Anyone who thinks they may not be able to get tickets should think about going to Fulham's 'neutral' section. This is next to the away fans at the Putney end, ans apparently away fans can wear colours, shout etc. Tickets go on general sale on Tuesday 30th October. I have some already via a Fulham season ticket holder, and it looks like you can buy up to 6, so would be good trip for occasional away fans....let's fill it with Saints fans! Nothing wrong with that, just startled that a stable premiership club like Fulham cannot fill their small stadium with partisan fans!
Nexstar Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Guessing travel will have to be driving or the bingo bus for this one?
Sour Mash Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Guessing travel will have to be driving or the bingo bus for this one? There are no trains running. Should be some sort of tube service. There are other coaches apart from the 'bingo' bus.
Colbury Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 The neutral end at Fulham is up there with the worst things in English football.

Graffito Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Small catchment area, lots of other league teams in vicinity I guess They get few locals. Fulham used to be a working class area but long ago became gentrified. Anecdotally they draw in support from further afield like parts of Surrey. I checked with National Express and they told me no services running from Southampton to London on Boxing Day. Do you know of any others running? Do you know of any others running? There have been two other coach companies running services this season. Just google 'Saints Away coaches', if you get no joy let me know. saintchris23 Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 As a 'closet Cottager' myself, the Putney end is good for when you either can't get tickets for the Hammersmith end or for when Fulham played Pompey when it was good to go and wind them up without them knowing that I was a Saints fan too. The acoustics are good and the floors are wooden so you can make a lot of noise. It's also the same stand that the away fans sit/stand in, think about the Northam but without the excessive segregation!
Kingsland Nick Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Nothing wrong with that, just startled that a stable premiership club like Fulham cannot fill their small stadium with partisan fans! Perhaps some of their partisan fans prefer a traditional, unsegregated area to the "modern football" idea of crowd segregation.

That's like saying the same thing about Twickenham on International days!? Rubbish. Football should be more neutral like rugby, it's only the thick knobheads that ruin it for everyone. JRM Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 football should never be neutral, the whole point of going to support your team is that you are with other fans of the same club singing etc. good mate of mine is a Fulham season ticket holder, they do see it as a point of embarrassment highlighting not only the low numbers of support but the fact they have to put up with lots of Aussies who have adopted Fulham as a club while living in west london. the only vocal support they have go at the back of the Hammersmith end. The Putney end is full of japs, aussies, posh dads with their sons who have decided to see some Premier action. anyway - back to the original post, if you want to go to this and think you might not get a ticket in our end, then but as soon as you can for the neutral section as it is the same end all mixed in. when they play other london clubs they whole end is basically away fans. saintchris23 Posted 27 October, 2012 Share Posted 27 October, 2012 Is the Crabtree pub still open these days? According to Google it's very much still open although I've never been in there myself.
