I found it quite refreshing that when his team loses he comes out and says 'it was because so and so was shyte'

For years and years, managers have been trotting out the same old excuses for losing , so that post match interviews are

almost pointless as you know what they are going to say.

Just because it is different to what we are used to, doesn't mean it is wrong.

It's no different to what the average fan is saying in the pub after the match anyway.

Because I happen to think he's a good manager on an upwards trajectory. I also like his straight talking, no nonsense approach. It's refreshing.

Until he says something stupid and gets the sack.

I thought Adkins is a good manager on an upwards trajectory? I don't want to see Adkins go at all but if he did it would be bizarre to replace him with a L1 manager.

If PdC was appointed I'd give him less than a month before he was sacked or walked out.

He runs Swindon almost from top to bottom; he has complete control over everything player related. And make no mistake, its entirely the Paulo di Canio show down there. I was at Fratton Park with a Swindon supporting mate to see them beat the Skates; di Canio's antics on the sideline are f*cking cringeworthy, and he is entirely reactive to everything (a defender made a small mistake, di Canio threw a strop and hauled him off, which ended up making the defence much worse). And at the end, after securing the win, di Canio was the first one over to applaud the fans and was the last one to leave, milking it all to maximum effect.

It's a no from me.

Interviewer: So, Paulo, you've been rumoured to be in line for the southampton job, perhaps a chance to work in the premiership, thats got to be of interest to you right?"

PDC. "why you saya dat? You no have-a respect for da manager and-a dat is why you are-a ****- journalista and-a when i am-a da manager of a club, maybe southampton maybe another club you-a will not-a be allowed to come to da match, now go away-a before i send you-a to train with da bambini".

It wasn't funny the first time.

in contrast, isn't it refreshing to hear exactly what he thinks rather than lots of nonsense. McCormack certainly wont do it again

It is. Compared to the usual 'disappointing to lose' or 'we would like to win' b**locks that managers spout. They're more like robots or politicians by the day!

The Northam end signing "paulo di canio, he's such a wan*io' c2002 was one of its finest moments.

Not quite up there with singing "small town in Villa" to the Brum fans (or small town in City to the United fans for that matter), but pretty good nonetheless.

I think he's too much of a loose cannon IMO. As soon as him and Cortese disagree on anything there would be fireworks and it would only add to the mayhem.

IF NA goes (and I hope he doesn't at the moment) then he'd go for a continental option with a track record for decent defences, I was about to suggest him poaching someone like Luciano Spalletti but he's recently renewed his contract.

he has been absolutely brilliant since being a manager...

however, jumping two leagues and going into the prem never works

I work in Swindon and have STFC fans and they say he is complete knob. Treats his layers with zero respect. No thanks

Anyone see him on the League Cup highlights last night, after their game against Villa? On character alone I struggle to think of anyone I would want less to be our manager.

I would guess swindon town would suggest his man management skills are not appalling

Actually, no they wouldn't. They know his man management skills are appalling, but as he is getting results they tend to overlook them.

Being a facsist doesn't necessarily make you a bad manager. Lazy argument.

Very true but it does make you the absolute ****ing scum of the earth who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our club. Personally for me if he gets it i won't step foot inside st mary's until he's gone.

Plus points for Di Canio:

1. He's not Harry

2. He's not Harry

3. He's not Harry

Negatives:

1. He's a muppet

2. He's a facist

3. He's totally unproven

So on the ballance of arguments the only way he should get the job is if it's a toss up bettween him and Harry.
