Mrs TS has just headed to St Mary's for a 'Meet the manager and a player' event. Player will be Jason Puncheon, wonder who the other one will be. :)

If she's allowed to text I'll let you know of anything interesting.

Could be the unveiling of Harry return of I never wanted to come here in the first place for the second time

I hope not

Think I'll leave her to it now and enjoy the stadium tour and then the dinner. Will get a report from her when she's back and see what questions were asked and who else was there.

Given my whole life revolves around this forum and I have an evening to plan, have you got a rough idea on the time Mrs Tractor is due back to update us on Adkinsgate? Cheers :-)

lol - not really a whole lot to say about Adkins not being there. The corporate event was billed as a "Meet the manager and a player" and the original invite stated it'd be Adkins and Puncheon. Then when they got there they were told that Adkins was in a meeting and wouldn't be there.

They had a stadium tour, saw the dressing rooms etc (wife did say that there's a vast difference between the home and away dressing rooms :)).

Then had a Q&A session with Puncheon and Gazziniga. Gazziniga didn't want to take any questions. Punch said along the lines of "players need to keep confident and the fans need to keep behind them"

Then everyone had dinner and went home a little disappointed not to see Adkins.

The wife didn't spot anyone else there either (and she was the one that spotted Adkins at Southampton Airport from a good 50 yards away and got very excited. Then we realised he was coming on honeymoon with us to Nice :))

Still, it was free I suppose!

I'm still left wondering what kind of 'unplanned' meeting a premier league manager gets invited to when, one assumes, his diary is well managed by his PA....

I've been involved in arranging corporate events myself and the contracts on this kinda thing are usually watertight in terms of 'what you ask for is what you get'. If the 'star attraction' doesn't turn up due to a simple diary cock up then, as organiser, I'd be mighty annoyed at best and reaching for my compensation calculator at worst.

Probably the sort of meeting that had been invented to ensure Adkins doesn't have to answer questions from inconvenient fans who want to know if he will remain our manager for much longer. One wrong answer could be a media and PR nightmare, so it's safest to keep him away.

Or perhaps I'm a cynical sod.

Made me smile too. It was a tour with the manager and a player followed Q&A. Except the manager wasnt there and and the player wouldnt take questions.

Are you being cynical about a corporate "Meet Jason Puncheon and look at Paulo Gazzaniga" night? You people want the moon on a stick.
