Anyone watch the Man utd game last night and has an opinion on Buttner?

 

I watched in fits and starts but saw him partly responsible for the first Braga goal.

 

As reports at the time indicated he looked useful going forward but not so good defending.

 

Very similar to Danny Fox perhaps.

 

If he had joined Saints I could see him playing in front of Fox with Lallana movinng to the right or inside.

 

However all hypothetical of course

Bullet dodged really. Didn't look very effective, was out of position a fair bit.

 

Thankfully we didn't spend money on another fox.

We've missed out on a player that's now gone to United, and plays. I think we should be more than a bit disappointed, the lad's obviously not a bad player at all.

United signed Taibi & Bebe, should we be disappointed we missed out on them too?

 

Everyone makes mistakes, granted Fergie's are fewer & atoned for by signings like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

 

That aside, it's probably hard to say. Adkins & Fergie both clearly see something in the lad.

 

I only saw parts of him last night, looked busy/lively going forward, was definitely at fault for Braga's opener. Not sure he will be a world-beater, but probably a decent player. Unconvinced whether he will 'make it' (sorry - hate to use that phrase) at United.

He looks a decent player, but nothing special, but will be another one of those average Man Utd squad players that fade away after time. He probably wasn't worth getting messed around for, just a shame we didn't have an alternative.
