I am struggling to understand why this lad has been dropped from the starting XI. I do not believe he has done anything wrong and I think we look a better side with him in it. His work rate, commitment, simple passing and ability to keep possession make us look a far better team. The only reason I can possibly see for his omission is Adkins is protecting him whilst we go through this sticky spell.

I would definitely start him against Spurs this weekend.

I'd go even further if I'm honest and give Shaw a go.

Can he be any worse than what our defence has done thusly?

Let's face it any points picked up against Spurs are going to be both a surprise and a bonus.

May as well give these two a go.

Yes.

Adkins is more than aware of our problems in defence, he isn't Burley. He knows our problems and the options open to us, if he (and the coaches) have decided that Shaw isn't ready yet then he probably isn't and may well prove more of a liability than Fox or Yoshi.

Could it possibly be that he is not on the Reed/Cortese "Cost in excess of £10M" Radar ??

Something is weong at SMS .... why not this ??

Hopefully Cork will be back soon- even Guly could do a job in a midfield 3 (a midfield 2 is a recipe for disaster). He's physically bigger and hard to muscle off the ball, can keep it simple and seems to prefer taking up a deeper position. And yes his work rate is decent.

Guly isn't actually 2 bad as a central midfield player, I know people will argue that. I think he's more effective through the middle than he is out wide for instance.

But I agree with your sentiment on Cork, I was a big fan of his last year - and even before he came here, I think he'll add a calmness that we sometimes seem to lack.
