30 million spent on players with no premiership experience! Who's responsible?

As it says in the title we have spent one of the highest amounts on transfer fees and we haven't brought any experience with one or two exceptions. This surely is a basic basic error one that I feel only cortese's influence could have made Adkins isn't that dumb or is he?

Same thread the OP started a week or so ago but with a different title.

Why do posters feel the need to start threads just to give their opinions on subjects which have multiple threads anyway? Are their opinions so important that they can't possibly be swollowed up and lost in other threads like everyone elses?

Dont think it needs another thread.

The "Chelsea" argument is a load of b*ll*cks though. Throughout they've had Cole, Terry and Lampard.

Oh please stop abusing me, nasty man.

I laugh at your counter argument though. Chelsea's line up in their mauling of Spurs: Cech (no prem experience), ivanovich (no prem experience), cahil, luiz (no prem experience), cole, ramires (no prem experience),mata (no prem experience),oscar (no prem experience), mikel (no prem experience), hazard (no prem experience), torres (no prem experience before being a success at liverpool).

Thats 2 more players than we have with PL experience. But congratulations on having the good fortune that this argument comes up the week after Chelse field a line-up unrepresentative of their usual PL experience over recent years...

So. What ?

Are you SERIOUSLY trying to argue that our problems dont stem from lack of PL experience ?

Im not sure if its lack of premier league experience more like premier league ability. across the whole back 5 i would struggle to suggest any are premier league quality at the moment. Thats not to say they wont be ( clyne and gazza have potential) but foe me fox, jos and fonte are a little out of thier depth.

So we've spent 30m on sh*t and/or no PL experience.

We are still up sh*t creek after spending 30m. You can go through the small print in your own good time, mate.

Loving this aggressive style Alpine.

(Trying to keep this on track)

From your stained chair in Austria, do you honestly believe Ramirez is sh*t? Do you not think the money spent on Nathaniel Clyne is money very well spent? Neither have previous Premiership experience, neither would look out of place in all bar the top 4 sides.

I don't think they do.

I'd rather quality that experience.

Messi has never played in the PL, how many games has Heskey got under his belt (I'm too lazy to look it up)?

Either way I know who I'd rather have in a heartbeat.

I still don't see where this 'sh*t' opinion come from?

Clyne? Clearly not.

Ramirez? Clearly not.

Davis? A fair few on here want him as Cpt - something I wouldn't mind personally.

Yoshida looks decent enough.

What's the total of that lot?

Cech and Terry didn't have previous Premiership experience. Lampard is a bit part player now in Chelsea's best team for quite a few seasons. But apart from that I take your point.

You're not very bright are you?

When they were brought through, they were playing with other already established Premiership players. Over time, they have now become the established Premiership players so the likes of Oscar and Hazard are able to prosper and learn from them.

As for Lampard being a bit part player, he's played in 11 games for Chelsea this season and has captained the England side twice this summer. Once again, ridiculous point.

Patience, my friend. It takes a while for things to work their way through to some people....

Thank you for your kind observation. You've also made it clear that the likes of Hazard and Oscar are thriving at Chelsea because they are surrounded by those with Premiership experience, even if the majority of those surrounding them did not have previous premiership experience. I was errant with my thoughts that it was because they were quality players and would improve any team they played in. Thank god Cahill was playing otherwise what buffoons Chelsea would be looking right now.

Please carry on casting your expert eye on my posts, I'm learning so much here.

Please re-read my original post and really concentrate hard on what I said there. I'm not repeating myself.

Thank you for highlighting the Cahill signing, you've helped prove my point perfectly. Why didn't they go out and sign some CB from Juve, Real or someone for £30m? Why settle for Bolton's Cahill? Ah, Premiership experience.

Glad I could be of assistance to someone less fortunate than myself.

Someone like Benfica? For say about £25m?? With no Premiership experience??? I must be making this up or did they really sign David Luiz.

He's saying the key word is "experience" not "quality". And you quoted him.

The process of you making a fool of yourself is now complete.

Now that would depend on who Grandad was responding to. I read it as Grandad preferring Premiership Quality rather than Premiership Experience. You've read the opposite. Easy mistake that one of us has made.... not sure how that makes me a fool though. Nice of you to point it out though.

I see where you're coming from but i think it's ambiguous.

It's like if i said Whitey Grandad the nicest sex is vaginal, and he said substitute anal for vaginal and I agree with you.

Or if i said Whitey Grandad the nicest sex is anal, and he said substitute anal for vaginal and I agree with you.

You feel me?

Plus I think you can equate the odd world cup or two and a bit of Champion's League experience to Premiership Experience. Now where Chelsea have really erred is by paying loads of money for young no-marks like Lukaku

Why the incessant mentioning of 30? Huge chunk on Ramirez who everyone is delighted to have. I'm sure he'll contribute a lot and clearly has huge talent.

I couldn't give a toss about prem experience, I'd prefer quality. If you want both, you need hundreds of millions. It's completely irrelevant anyway. Take saints out the equation (which most seem incapable of) and look at other sides. Newcastle didn't sign prem experience. They did well because of quality, regardless of where it's from. Norwich and Swansea didn't either. QPR have a huge amount of prem experience, 90% of it garbage and overpaid.

I didn't see us linked with one experienced prem player who was really worth signing. Scott Dann? Great, top flight experience. We have enough dodgy defenders. Dawson would be great if vaguely fit but good quality with experience isn't something other clubs give away easily.
