Boruc - See ya!! Gazza will feel a little let down unless he is injured.

MOSaint Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Why did Boruc play? He clearly isn't match sharp yet. Why did the team start hacking Carroll? He was no threat first half but suddenly we started trying to kick him up in the air and conceded costly set pieces.

DG Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 It's going to be a torrid few months until January, hopefully we wont be too out of sight when the transfer windows re-opens, we really did **** ourselves completely in the summer. I doubt changing the manager with the players we have will make any difference but we have to try and stop the flood of goals conceded somehow. Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Of all the nasty little ****ty teams to lose to... hate their fans so much. We have now played 6 teams from the top 10. Wet Spam have played 4 teams from the bottom 5. Having said that, we are woeful defensively and NA has some questions to answer with team selection and tactics. I'm not sure that any manager can turn our woeful defense around though. We may need to put up with batterings until Christmas and hope we can get some decent signings in then. Thedelldays Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 we are fuking shyte.....simple as that on the current path, we will do well to get more points than derby we have let in a record number of goals at this point in the last 20 years our hero, talisman and big game player was on the bench we were better than that west ham team last season...I would have thought a point would have been minimum earlier on this year at upton park sorry to say, Adkins has to go....and I think he will..and doing so, will always be a saints legend..but he is not up to it...full stop these defeats and the manner of them will (if not already) have a negative impact on the players and club as a whole...it was masked before by the tough start.. but the last game was dire....at home to fulham and this was terrible as for the game looked solid 1st half...never gave them a sniff but offered absolutely nothing up front 2nd half...back to normal within 5 mins of being on, lambert offered more of a goal threat that rodriguez did in the entire 1st half so so so so so poor from all round...terrible terrible and heading down with a stupidly low amount of points.... I just hope NC makes a change to at least give us a chance up next, spurs at home....no chance then away to leeds....dear god then away to an impressive WBA team i would say make the change now as November is crucial and a new man would have time to make a few changes and at least give an impact that new managers usually do we are better than this shower of shyte
Professor Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Hi All after 2 months away. Substantial defeat by a club we beat to a top two place last season and relegation zone is not what the Chairman promised. By all means look at the manager but he is the same man who won the two consecutive promotions. Cortese talked about being a top half prem side but has he backed Adkins with enough cash for quality signings and did he do it soon enough? Adkins wanted two CBs in the early summer. Instead we have one, signed late and as a Japanese player does he understand the players around him? WE wanted a fast winger and find ourselves up against one in Jarvis who we could have signed if we had made as good an offer as West Ham. I'm more inclined to question the Chairman, or the owners, commitment than blame the manager.

sfc4prem Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 We always shoot ourselves in the foot. Our suicidal defending will cost us. We have just set a new record for goals let in eight games into a Premier League season. We don't have the personnel in defence to keep us up. This is the game that should give Nic the ol' kick up the arse. Thanks for getting us successive promotions Nige, but we don't have the time to let you experiment and learn. Ally Biggs Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Just finished watching, Have watched every game this season and that was embarrassing, I'm not going to sit here and defend Adkins yes he did a fantastic job getting us back to back promotions, But clearly at this level he is out of his depth. Sure you can sit here and defend him and wait for him to turn things around we can't afford to wait. Are defenders are not up to the job and are opposition know this. Players who I don't Rate Fox I think he is useless lose count of the amount of times he gets skimmed, Hoovied clear out his depth this level, Fonte has shaky moments. Rodriguez? maybe one for the future but 6 Million for him? hasn't really done alot for us yet and I think money would of been better spend on players with Prem Experience which is something we are lacking and it's coming back to bite us in the ass. If we don't sort this out soon only one place we will be heading and it's not Europe lol and we will have the record goals scored against us now that is a going to be a bitter pill to swallow. Professor Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 OK. It was a strange team selection. NA does need to explain his thinking if he wants the fans to understand what he had in mind. Saying it was brave to leave out Rickie is not enough as the line between bravery and stupidity can be very thin.

Travelling Saint Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Talk about giftting them goals. Defense has to deal with first goal better, someone has to say thats mine, i'll win that. 2nd slopper. 3rd what was he doing with his arm there? 4th back off back off and let he shoot. West Ham didn't have to do anything we just gave it to them.

CanadaSaint Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 The constant flow of individual mistakes suggests that some of our players need a much firmer hand than Nigel is willing or able to provide. Some of them might benefit from facing the hairdryer but I don't think Nigel knows where the switch is. The decision to leave out Gazzaniga, who IMO had helped to settle the defence - even though he's a bit raw, was inexplicable unless he was injured. Familiarity between the back four and the keeper is crucial at this level. We don't seem to have any real idea what our best side is. On those bases, even I am wondering whether Nigel's time is up and I can certainly see Cortese pulling the plug this week.

SaintPC Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Even though it is his first game for us Boruc was poor and for me should be deemed third choice after that, Fonte was poor, Hooiveld looked better for most of the game but his defending for the third goal was terrrible. Yoshida out of position and not a winger. Clyne, a good player but still young, inexperienced and developing in this league. Howeever after their third went in our backline fell apart. I am not a Guly hater, but his pass led to the third goal and I thought that he just doesn't have the necessary attributes to play in this league. Lallana, other than the goal, in and out of the game tbh. Schneiderlin and Davis covered a lot of pitch, but didn't have the creative flair needed to open up an average West Ham side. We really missed Ramirez IMO to settle the game down in midfield and put good balls into the box. Rodriguez showed glimpses, but the balls to him generally were just not good enough. Puncheon, in and out of the game tried to create but very little end product. And finally, why oh why was Lambert not starting - I understood it to an extent against Man City, but this is West Ham surely you play to win even if you are away from home. On the basis of that Spurs is not going to be pretty....

JustinR Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Dont agree with the Adkins knee jerk reactions, but he does need to explain what he said to the team at half time, awful 2nd half. Yoshida was awful today. two school boy errors that caused the 2nd and 4th. Looks the panic buy he was to me. West Ham must be thinking how the f**k did we win that 4-1. Embarrasing
DrunkenSaint Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 He has to go sadly, that team today was terrible. He shouldn't of bought Jrod when we were getting 2 better choices and we still had Lee and Lambert. 7 mil on 2 defenders would have gone a long way. He wanted a bit more pace upfront today so why didn't he play Mayuka from the start, probably our fastest player and he's been going on about defence so he played Guly down the left where he does not track back and help the defence? I think JWP is a lot better than Davis but he picks Davis cause he is more experienced, quality before experience imo. Dear oh dear he hasn't helped himself at all.
