Sadly most people on here will ignore the last 6 years, preferring instead to concentrate on a few bad performances this season. Let’s just hope NC has a slightly more level headed perspective.

Let’s just hope NC has a slightly more level headed perspective. FWIW I don't blame Adkins. He is restricted by the formation he has to play with players not suited to it due to the bungled transfer window. He can see it isn't working but is relatively powerless to stop it. What I don't like seeing is this chirpy, positive chap a shadow of himself and feeling the strain. Unfortuantely Nige will be the fall guy in Cortese and Reeds failing plan. Whoever comes into replace Nige wont be a big name either. No proven manager will be dictated too and Reed won't want a senior manager to come in as he won't want to lose any power. Expect a young European who we probably won't have heard of.

Look at how hard it is to get promoted (from any league). Many teams have tried for years to get back to the Premiership, but Adkins got us there in 2. Even if we fail miserably this year, he has deserved the chance and the right to make mistakes (if indeed he is making them). People should calm down and be grateful for where we are and the success we have had over the last two years. People are so quick to want to 'ditch' the best thing that has happened to this club in a long time. The recruitment team have a hand in this so called mess as Adkins said that he wanted CBs and LB. Despite not getting these he would have been professional and carried on trying to do his best with what he has. If we are quick to dispose of Adkins then the footballing world will all want to see us fail and quite frankly we will deserve to.

What if NC makes him the scapegoat for botched transfers and a tactical masterplan? A Ray Wilkins or similar to replace Reed and provide coaching assistance may be what we need. Speaks Italian too.
