Thedelldays Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Fergie could be in charge and we'd still be where we are, the players aren't performing and letting us down. What manager can improve these shambles? Those saying redknapp, do you really want him to oversee two relegations? Ridiculous suggestion. Agree that it's strange not starting with Lambert and having guly in there though. that is just utter tosh......

conaero Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Cortese has probably got an Italian on stand-by. Thats what I recon. Its such a shame about our Nige, but, to go down 4.1 to the playoff side from last year shows that we are going backwards. My concern is if the squad has it in them, is a new manager going to inject the enthusiasm back in? If not I can just see it being 'saggy chops'. Has a manager ever taken a prem club down twice in 2 seasons in charge???

What manager can improve these shambles? Those saying redknapp, do you really want him to oversee two relegations? Ridiculous suggestion. Agree that it's strange not starting with Lambert and having guly in there though. Disagree. Biazarre team selections, naive tactics and very very poor subsitutions have cost us. The buck stops with the manager on these issues. Added to this poor/lack of defensive signings for which he is only partially responsible and what we have is a shambles. It can be sorted out by somebody tactically astute, at least to get us through to January when badly needed reinforcements can be brought in. forever a red and white Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 I would rather go down with Adkins than bring in Redknapp and I truly mean that! What happened to those singing one Nigel Adkins at Villa? Like the players at this league, he needs time to adapt and learn. Unfortunately the financial demands of having to stay in the Premier League just puts enormous pressure on everyone! Even if you think he deserves the sack he certainly doesn't deserve the abuse that he is getting! I stay stick with him...surely there is a bigger picture he and he fits into that well? ART Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Redknapp returned to Farton a 2nd time and turned things around and went from better to better and then to Spurs. At this moment in time there's few better to bring in. If only as consultant, he would do a good job. Times are different now than they were in Lowe's time. Some managers are brilliant but can't handle the top leagues. Nigel got S****horpe to the Championship then took them straight back down. Luggy couldn't handle the upper league yet was brilliant in the lower leagues. Nigel is still young but needs time elsewhere to learn the Premier League. Nigel has lost the plot on his recruitments, his team choices and substitutions.

david in sweden Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 It's defenders we need - and a defensive midfielder - not a new manager. at last post 38 - the voice of reason. Yes it's bad, but who could do better with this squad ?....they're all NA players. A change at this stage would be a mistake we'd regret forever. We have to tighten up at the back, and we have to use the players we already have. The only way for us to get points is to score goals. A new manager might look to play a 10 man defence - and we'd still lose. Can't undo the mistakes of the transfer window, but 5 of the 7 games we've played have been against teams in the top 10. lordswoodsaints Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Redknapp for me,I think a lot of you have to remember that just 6 short months ago he was the popular choice for England manager by a long shot so are you saying he's not good enough for us?.....forget about the Pompey thing, forget about his last spell but look forward and think who would have the best chance of keeping us in the prem, redknapp certainly has the best qualifications out of the available managers around. WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Time is up for Nige. Would have loved it to work out as I wanted a manager here for years but he is out of his depth in the premiership and will take us down. Don't know if the lack of defensive recruits in the summer was his fault or NC's or both but either way it will cost Nige his job!! A Benitez or Redknapp would no doubt find a couple of decent frees defensively until January if they came in?

Olallana Posted 20 October, 2012 Share Posted 20 October, 2012 Cause it´s Nigels fault that the players can´t defend the first freekick? And it´s Nigels fault that Jos doesn´t close down the opponent on the second goal? And it´s Nigels fault that Fonte throws his arm up and boxes the ball?? yeeeez..... This was (again) not a manager loss, it was stupid poor defending. We truely needs defenders, mostly a LB so we can play Yoshida as CB cause in those games with him there we´ve looked pretty decent....
